Oden dares you to call him a gentle giant

ORLANDO - Greg Oden most probably will go to Portland with the first pick in the June 28 NBA draft.

Ohio State's 7-foot, 280-pound freshman center could have gone No.1 last year if the NBA hadn't created a rule that limits admission to the league to players who are at least 19 and have been out of high school for a year.
But he had no interest in growing up too quickly. He wanted to experience college life, even if only for a year. "My thought was I was ready to go to college, no matter what," Oden said. "I wasn't ready to be a grown man. That year of college did me some good. It might help some other people who think they're ready and get to go to college and they learn otherwise. "I love walking the Oval at Ohio State in the spring time. It's great. I just like being around students, kids coming to learn and enjoy themselves while they're there. With Ohio State being a football school, there wasn't as much pressure on me as there was on Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. I got to mosey along as a regular guy until after the national championship. And I really can mosey.'"

Greg Oden is a freak of nature (updated)

Posted by Jason Quick June 04, 2007 11:24AM

The Oregonian has secured the official weights, measurements and testing results from the Orlando predraft camp, and wait until you get a load of the freak of nature called Greg Oden.

For starters, his numbers blow Kevin Durant out of the water.

There are several startling revelations in the numbers, and the one that immediately pops out is the bench press. Players were rated on how many times they could bench press 185 pounds. Oden didn't attempt the bench press in order to prevent an injury to his right wrist, which has recently recovered from injury.

haha, a comment someone left on the article posted above:

RiggoDrill says...

These numbers are as close to porn as I could ever hope to surf on the internet at work.

Young McRoberts!!!!!

I am staying in Carmel, Indiana, which is north of Indianapolis. In this area lots of people know high school basketball. When you ask someone about it, the first name that pops in their minds is not Greg Oden, Michael Conley Jr., or Eric Gordon. It's JOSH MCROBERTS, one of my favorite people in the world.

The End Of The Best Year Of My Life

It is the last week at The Ohio State University. It is finals week everybody is studying, trying to pass their classes. I am going to miss it so much, when September comes around next year I'll be in pre-season, and my peers will be meeting back up for another go around at this college thing. To be honest it is so much more than that. It's the place when you get fed up of being with your parents, you get to get away.

Orlando, Orlando

Yesterday was my first day here in Orlando, at the NBA combine. There are a lot of good players out here. The hotel everyone is staying at is crazy big. I thought it was Disneyland when I saw it from the highway. It is very nice. I get lost just about everytime I step out my room. The crazy thing was when Michael Conley Jr. and I got here there was no one to tell us where to go.
