C Daniel Giddens (transfer to Alabama, transfer to Vermont)

Giddens does appear to have low shoulders. I've proclaimed for years that height is overstated in measuring a players "basketball" size. How high you can reach (as well as wingspan) is much more important than how far the top of your head is from the floor.

sloped/low shoulders, long neck...sure. but his wingspan is 7'2.5", so along with his strength, athleticism, and aggression, i'm not really worried at all about him playing too small for a power program college C. he adds another ten pounds good weight and adjusts to the next level and he is gonna be an absolute beast on the defensive end. he has the mobility to defend the pick 'n roll well but also enough size/strength to man up in the low post against the big boys, and great instincts for both scenarios. that is a rarity in college ball these days.

offensively i really don't expect much from him and even his overall rebounding might be a bit of a work in progress at this level. post production on O, i think Trevor Thompson might have shown more in HS and his first season at V Tech. i think he will be a project there, too, but i think he might have a bit more feel for that end of the court. i'd love to add Nick Ward to that mix cuz to me Ward is a poor man's Sully.

He can definitely throw it down in a hurry, but could be better with lateral movement on D - a little El Matador D on drives. He is good at running the floor. It will be interesting to see what kind of role he will have, he has some talent but not so talented that he has to be out there all game.
