The Stampede opened camp Tuesday with 17 players at the Boys & Girls Club. Coach Mike Peck must cut the roster to 10 players by Nov. 21 and although the coaching staff believes that Coby Karl (6-foot-5, Boise State), Justin Holiday (6-6, Washington) and Dallas Lauderdale (6-8, Ohio State) have a strong chance to make the team, the message has been conveyed that there are no guarantees. Karl, Holiday and Lauderdale are camp invitees with the team?s hybrid single-affiliate team, the Portland Trail Blazers. ?We want to promote an atmosphere of urgency and performance,? Peck said.
