It's a shame, too. He had a real presence in those 6 minutes he played. Wiscy would have had to worry more about how they were guarding Sully if Dallas were in.akronbuck;1874016; said:played only 6 minutes. :(
Its in large part to the freshmen we just had come in. They're rediculously good. Dallas isn't a scorer, and with how well the guards shoot on this team, how long they are, and how well they play on defense, Lauderdale became less of a need. Thad also has a tendency to sub very infrequently, especially if the guys on the court are playing really well.Bucky32;1874030; said:Can anyone explain why he didn't play more?
I do not think it was Wisconsin's big man who beat us. It was Taylor and we certainly couldn't put Lauderdale on Taylor so it really wasn't their big man that hurt us and the big men from Minnesota certainly aren't doing much up there. I will take the wing players that can play multiple positions rather than having too many big guys. The Minnesota guys just get in each other's way.akronbuck;1874070; said:The only thing I don't like about Mattas fantastic recruiting and coaching. He'll recruit 7-9 out of 13 as wing players SF/SG . He will play 3 wings, PG and a PF. Granted, it works great with most teams but, when a team like Wisconsin and Minny have a strong force down low we have to be able to adjust to it. I know we only have 2 bigs but, if they need to play together then, so be it. Just think about NC, Duke and some other top teams that have a few biggies and all we use is Sullinger. I saw how Sullinger was hooking up Lauderdale with some easy points when he was getting double teamed and that was great.

To add to the bolded, the ones that he does recruit as PF's or C's end up being one and done (Oden, Koufos, Mullens, Sully?, Williams next year?), so that has really killed us big-man wise. Again, going back to Matta's fantastic recruiting. What makes the results of Matta coached teams is the rediculous turnover in terms of players. If they're not leaving early, it's transfers in, transfers out, or JUCO's.akronbuck;1874070; said:The only thing I don't like about Mattas fantastic recruiting and coaching. No way Craft but, Diebler,Lighty or Buford would have to sit when needed.
Osu won the rebounding war but, that doesn't count because, Wisconsin was on fire and they did get a lot of second chances
