C Aaron Bradshaw (Official Thread)

From other articles have read, seems like the legal thing is gone, but 'playing condition' is the issue. Wonder if he was banned from the workout facilities as well, or simply didn't run on his own, etc. Yeah, need him back.

From the Dispatch:

“For Aaron, it’s been good to get him back in the gym and start his return to play,” Diebler said Thursday. “No real firm decisions as to what the specific timeline is going to look like yet. We’re still evaluating that, but he’s gotten a couple good workouts in and that’s the extent of it right now.”

A 7-1, 215-pound center, Bradshaw is a former top-five national recruit who played his freshman year at Kentucky before transferring to Ohio State during the spring. He has averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds while starting the first four games of the season and playing 23.4 minutes per game. Without him, the Buckeyes have leaned on playing smaller lineups featuring 6-9, 220-pound Sean Stewart as the starting center.

Auburn is led by 6-10, 240-pound center Johni Broome, who is currently the nation’s top-rated player at KenPom.com. Ohio State last played Saturday, when it beat Rutgers without Bradshaw being in the building.
More than anything I'm glad the investigation didnt prove the worst. Going to be a problem vs that Auburn Center though.

A claim against an Ohio State star, seems to make the Dispatch headlines, page one, above the fold. However, the exoneration would be on page 14 (not certain how many pages of a newspaper there are...), hidden below an ad for feminine hygiene products. Still unclear why he's so outa shape, unless was banned from the Woody, Schott or wherever. For a kid that has probably been balling since he was six, 'fitting in' doesn't seem like it would be that difficult. Start low, come up high, collect the pass, set a pick, roll toward the basket, looking for the return. Boxing out, contesting shots, boxing out (did I mention that?), jumping, finding the outlet. Maybe lift weights to put some meat on those 215 lb bones. Hope to see ya soon, Aaron.

I was thinking the same about his fitness. He should still be able to handle 3 to 5 minute spurts shouldn't he? I mean, way way way back when, we'd play 4 games in a day. I know not that level and everything, yada yada... I say put him in just to hack the shit out of the Auburn Center a few times. 5 fouls is 5 fouls.

'Back in the day', you didn't play hard enough if at the end of the game you only had one or two fouls. My first 4 HS games, had 21 fouls, the extra a technical when slammed ball on floor after the fifth one. Didn't think you could get a technical after you were officially out of the game. Just kidding.....Those Auburn guys looked like they were passing the ball back and forth under the basket, padding their stats. What a whupping.

I hope it wasn't just because he was playing his old school that he went off but a preview of more to come. You can't teach that kind of height and he's very smart with it. Got jobbed a few times on foul calls. More of this please and stay out of trouble!
