Sdgobucks: "This year proved that pre season rankings can mean a great deal at the end of the year."

REPEAT: this year was an abberration!! Can anyone name me one season in the last twenty five besides this one, where there were three major conference undefeateds heading into the Bowl games??

Run the table, and the rest will take care of itself. The Buckeyes can start out # 117 next season, and will be in the Rose Bowl if they run the table.

AKAK: "Rumor has it hat if he comes out SF will take him #1."

If Leinart is projected as # 1, he's gone. Book it. The kid's accomplished all he can do in a college career: (maybe) Back to Back National Titles, and a Heisman Trophy. He has nothing to prove anymore, so he aint passing down the millions from the NFL.

DA-Bucks: "You're damn right I am - I loves them Buckeye Kool-Aid! (A little Everclear added to help with the cold days)"

Good man. Everclear should be the Official Drink of the Ohio State-scUM weekend!

Well here's the way I see it at positions

QB- If troy Smith can just get the ball to ginn, and don't turn the ball over he'll be our QB for the other 2 years. I'm most impressed with Troy's INT's. He has only 3 and all came in the same game. Not to mention 2 of those maybe weren't his fault.

RB- Don't see this as a question because well our starter (pittman) is back, and we also probably have a better backup. I believe in the 40's in ranking would do well for us.

WR- Ginn, Holmes, Gonzo, Hall, Dukes, Jordan, Lyons, Hartline, and Amos should do just fine if you ask me. (best in the big ten).

OL- I also as well look for all the freshman this year to push for playing time. Boone will play tons. That added into Peterson coaching calls for improvement. Anything over this year is an improvement.

K- God who knows?

DB- Only question we have here is who will start opposite of Ashton? I hope Underwood gets his head in check because he was brilliant in the first half I thought.

DL- a year of playing time will do wonders and I believe they'll really start to come to fold.

LB- Best part of our team... We should be Nasty.

P- Hopefully Houston comes back!

I believe maybe 8-9 would be a very good spot. I think 2 may be alittle too high, but see me after the Texas game and we'll all know wether we should be #2 or not. However, I think the higher we are ranked the better. Because someone made an excellent point in saying that if we aren't ranked high enough maybe no NC?

I don't see an extream weakness on this team really? I think if our defense starts to come around then we should do big things. Also I think Troy Smith in play action really needs to get the ball down field.

I don't know how Michigan is ranked that high? I'm fearing Iowa alot more than I am Michigan. Iowa is losing 3 of the 4 defensive lineman tho!! That is huge!

OK a top 10 list - The pre-pre-pre-season rankings before the second season (aka Bowl Time) is even finished.

For my money its too early to speculate on the relative strengths and weaknesses of any of these teams or our Buckeyes until

-- The Bowls are done.

-- The Junior (& any 5th yr Senior) shuffle to the NFL is done.

-- The coaching shuffles (in and out) are finalized.

-- National Letter of Intent Signing Day is over and the quality of skill players (RB in particular) is established

-- Spring Practice gives us a clearer view of the '05 on field play

-- And a special one for the Buckeyes -- Tejas is our first big test in '05. That's when we'll get our best insight on how good the 2005 squad really has become.

Right now though, its too early.
