BuckeyePlanet Mock Draft

Alan said:
correct wadc......barring someone completely unexpected dropping to us in the second round, we will be taking a defensive lineman.....

if we get a de, we will move former buckeye great darrion scott to tackle....no way i am benching a buckeye....
Using that strategy you were probable hoping Williamson drops to #18 for you. While in this mock that was wise, most likely Benson could be available at #7 since of the big 3 RBs, he is the most likely to drop because of his slower 40 time. Not saying he is bad, but with NFL teams they will most likely have Brown & Williams at top of most draft boards.

But hey, that is why we have these mocks right?

i understand where you are coming from piney....but...to me..."most likely" doesn't work....i don't like to take those chances....i prefer to be sure....

going into this draft I manuevered and expected to get:
at rb: either Benson (1st choice) or Brown (2nd choice)...i prefer benson b/c i like a more physical rb....just my preference...by moving up to second I was assured of moving the running game where i would want it to be....

at wr: picking 18th i expected either Williamson (1st choice) or White (2nd option) to still be around....I feel there is a huge dropoff after the edwards, williams, williamson and white group.....

so...going into this draft i felt there were two needs for the vikings that could be addressed right away....rb and wr....

and i identified that benson and brown were clear and away the best nfl running backs available....no offense to cadillac...but i dont see him as a solid nfl back...

then i looked and saw 4 receivers that are worthy of a first round pick...with nate burleson alreay in the fold as a great receiver....i wanted someone who could stretch the field with his speed.....that left Williamson and White....

so....i am very happy to get a back that can provide stability to the offense and take pressure off the passing game....and i am happy to have a #2 receiver with the speed and potential of white.....

With the 22nd pick in the 2005 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens select ILB Channing Crowder, Florida University.

Ed Hartwell is now in Atlanta, and Baltimores strength is in their LB's, Crowder gets selected to again solidify a great Ravens defensive team.

It's a mock draft and it's all fun and games, not to be mean ... but the Raven's are switching to a 4-3 that's why Edgerton left Baltimore.
