Buckeye Tailbacks - 2005 (official thread)

I have a feeling that if Ginn is to win a Heisman, he will have to do it by beating Michigan on national tv and impressing all the writers. Other wise, guys with more "yardage", RBs, QBs, will get it over him! I think that Troy Smith may have an advantage over Ginn because he will get the numbers and have Ginn's help , like the way Leinart won at USC. Using Bush's help to win. Bush got votes, hasn't won and probably won't win one. Ginn may be in the same situation.

That wasn't the case with Desmond Howard or Charles Woodson (sorry, I know those are bad words...). They won the award by making big plays at clutch times - punt returns, big catches, interceptions...

I think Ginn has a very realistic shot. If he has 4 punt returns this year, plus a full season of playing WR, and then add in some exciting reverses and maybe red-zone defensive play, he has a great shot.

Damn, I'm off topic. Anyways, when would we hear about the Haw suspension? Also, what are the thoughts about being in Tressel's doghouse after the suspension is over with?

I don't know that he will be in the doghouse, I'm not sure if there is one. Tressel seems to be the kind of coach who assesses a penalty, and when the player has served it he moves on. If Haw displays the right attitude I think he'll have a clean slate once his suspension (or whatever) is over.

well according to Steve Helwagen in his chat Haw doesn't have a suspension and he won't be given one neither so he's cleared to play. I guess he just ended up with a 50 dollar fine.. I bet they just kill him with some running and alot of hard work this summer and thats his punishment. Steve did say it wouldn't surprise him if Haw just was punished by sitting some of the Miami game out for good measures. So it looks like he won't get a punishment and he'll be cleared to play for the whole season.

Another part of his punishment will be that he will be tested for drugs on an intensified basis, so he WILL be going cold turkey... and if not, there will be consequences.
Agreed. Haw has definitely paid for what he has done with the media humiliation and will most likely receive increased screenings. That's tough enough on a college kid his age and I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson.

Tailbacks - 2005 (official thread)

Do you guys think there will be RBBC at the Shoe this year?

Is either of them ready to take over as "the man"?

I'm trying to gauge whether Haw would make a good pickup in a fantasy league. Looking for a late round pick that could put up big numbers for me.

Thanks!
