Buckeye Planet T-Shirts (Split)

maybe the large logo on the back, with a mini one positioned on the front right or left of the chest, w/ the website address?...
The logo would look good as a small one on the side...

Problem is we also want people to see the buckeyeplanet.com as they are walking by. You don't necessarily realize it's a website when you see the logo (it's very synonymous with the catch phrase "buckeye nation" to someone not familiar with BP).

We still need to decide whether we want the logo on the front/back.

Some comments on the logo on the back side...I dunno if I like the faded out border around the text. I wonder what a black stroke around the text would look like, and it might be easier to screen print on to t-shirts w/ solid colors.

I for one would like to keep the the front of the shirt with just "BuckeyePlanet.com" and no smaller logo. Keep the font the same as the font used on the logo, though.

The problem with the original logo is that while it looks sleek a computer, it will not be as easy to read for the front of the shirt or the banner. Oilerbuck likes this new version too and both of us want to go with what BP chooses.

Here are the two options I am currently working with for the t-shirt:

A) Original Logo

B) New Logo

C) Up close of front

These shirts are selling like hotcakes after merely one business day of being posted, and that is during the "slow" offseason period for this site. We're betting this popularity will carry over to the Spring Game, especially because OilerBuck's logo is so cool that random buck fans will want one of these shirts. We're planning to make a bunch of extras to sell at the game, but we thought it would be a good idea to brainstorm ways to market these shirts at the S.G.

Anyone here with marketing experience? Or do you just have good ideas for what to do? We would want to figure out how to bring in customers to our stand, as well as how to advertise to those who would buy but don't have the cash, etc. Fire away with your ideas guys.

Will we be tailgating right by the stadium? If so these things will sell themselves. If not we will have to devise a way to bring attention to ourselves to get people over to our tailgate. Either way these shirts are badass and won't have any problems selling. I'm wondering if there would be a way that we could market these to stores in the area. If we could get these things into Buckeye Corner and similar stores the profits for the site would be off the charts!

Won't you guys get nailed for selling non-licensed Ohio State gear?

I know someone in college who got nailed for that and believe me, that's not a situation you want to be in.

You better be careful.

Hey, don't I get any credit for coming up with the scarlet and gray globe idea?

Oiler just turned the globe into a football shape.

Good question, but as you can see from the above prototype logo, there isn't anything that is tOSU copyrighted. Buckeye is a nut and Ohio is the Buckeye state. Our shirt will include the above logo (font undecided) and buckeyeplanet.com on the other side.

Sorry, didn't mean to leave out the fact that it was your idea. The logo was kind of a group project really.

Thump... The logo we're using isn't owned by the university and the website that the product is promoting is owned by Clarity so I don't see how we will be in any trouble for anything. If there is something that we're missing I sure would like to be let in on the secret. I'm sure my uncle would've said something if we weren't in "compliance". I hope this isn't the case because this is an excellent opportunity to make some money for a new server.

Thump does however bring up a good point. How do we (BuckeyePlanet.Com) go about getting the logo copyrighted? Is that important? Should we look into it? These are all things that we should discuss.
