Buckeye Kickers - 2005

Not a bad point, OSU has produced a few great ones in the last few years, which I'm assuming is due to Tressel's emphasis on special teams. Pre-Tressel, I can't think of any elite OSU kickers who made waves in the NFL, except maybe Tom Tupa.

By the way, does anyone know how BJ Sander is doing? I know he got drafted but I don't remember seeing him play at all last year.

Sander was in Green Bay last time I checked,

Unfortunately, BJ Sander seems to have had a bit of trouble adjusting to kicking NFL-style. Here's where my ignorance may come blazing through, but I remember hearing it was something to do with the number of steps he could take or some such - someone wiser can probably clarify. They're sending him to NFL Europe for the spring league. The media out here has been merciless. Having seen him do his thing for tOSU, though, I think he'll do just fine in the long run. Keep rooting.

I was under the impression that in order for a school to be "any positon U". That school had to send several successful pros to the NFL. We have had a lot of good/great CFB kickers, but Tupa is the only one currently on an active roster, until Nuge is drafted, and makes a team. Tupa wasn't even drafted as a punter either. So, IMO, no tOSU is not kicker U. I don't believe that there's a single school that could make that claim.

Bucknuts Radio Hour had an interview with Tressel and he said Huston was good to go.

When was this? The only thing I've heard Tressel say publicly about Huston was that he felt "90% certain" that Huston would get his sixth year. Did you hear Tressel actually say the NCAA granted him the sixth year, or our you paraphrasing what he said?
