Buckeye football resume

Buckeye Hero

The Peoples Champion
I just joined this forum (I dont know how it took me so long to find it), but I was born and raised in Columbus, graduated from The Ohio State University and have moved to Florida for work in the past year.
Needless to say my office is full of SEC fans and especially gator fans who feel the need to tell me about 41-14 on a daily basis. I love Ohio State football, and more than anything it is the long history and tradition that we have always had at Ohio State, where families can get together and talk about the great games and players of the past that we can all look back upon fondly. And current or future players and teams that we are all excited to see develop.
Anyways, my cube is full of Ohio State football images and posters and I feel like I am fighting a 1 man battle down here in enemy territory, what I could really use is an Ohio State football resume, something that outlines the great tradition we have at Ohio State. National championship teams, All-Americans, First round draft picks, 10 win seasons, big 10 champions..... there has to be a document out there that gives a break down of all the great accomplishments that our program has achieved, so the next time an SEC fan wants to talk about 42-14 I can just show him the resume.

Any Help out there?

I have been in Jacksonville for 18 years now and I have found out that the fans here in florida could care less about midwest football and the Big10 and thats the way it is, that the way its gonna be.

Just go with the flow and hold true to your allegiance for the Buckeyes. Its great to fill your cubicle with OSU history and photo's but don't be surprised if in the future some my show up missing. Could you just imagine if a fan of the Gators had to re-locate his office to Columbus? Goodness what a dreadful thought for him and he would be treated the same as the treatment you are getting from the Gators here in Florida.

We are all fans of college football and being in the GatorNation you have to give their due and grin & bear it. Glad that you found this website to fill your needs of Buckeye Football. It will ease your frustrations. Trust me.

And you aren't going to win any fans. You aren't even going to gain an inch in that battle. SEC fans believe that there's football, and then there's SEC football. The Big Ten is on par with C-USA, the Pac10, the Big East, the MAC, Sun Belt, the FCS (formerly Div-IAA), and hockey. Even high school football is above the Big Ten, in their minds, and nothing is going to change that.

You might as well try to convince them that they lost the Civil War.

Pretty much sums it up

Don't you mean, "The War of Northern Aggression"?

As it was explained during my penance in mid-western North Carolina, the South was becoming an economic powerhouse because of their agricultural prowess. Out of envy, the North attacked in order to absorb that economy.*

*Disclaimer: any words over two syllables are my own invention. It was necessary to expand the vocabulary, because it would take many, many paragraphs to explain the same scenario with monosyllabic words.

I had always thought it was bad enough that people in the southern states still get all huffy about the Civil War. But this one guy from Texas started working here, and he said that some of the older people ("old-timers") think that they really won the war. I asked how they would account for one nation, instead of two. He said he didn't know how they would explain it.

He has said, though, that he wants Texas to secede from the Union, and he would join the Texas army in a heartbeat.

Translated to the Southern:

"Sheeeeit.....them damn yankees was too damn slow and lazy to grow good so they came down and tried to take all the vitals we growed. Only reason they won was......[insert incredibly lame excuse]. <spit, wipe mouth with back of hand>."

LOL! I forgot that "shit" is a two syllable word in the South.

The other Southernism that I always enjoyed was "rurnt". (for those who are unaware, the word in quotations is "ruined" in English)

Good retort.

I have to admit that I get a kick out of secessionists. My favorites are the frogs from Quebec.
