How could u like the indians but not like the browns.
I like the Reds, but not the Bengals. I've been a Browns fan for as long as I can remember, but I've never liked American League baseball. It's pretty easy for me to like a team in one sport, and a team form a different city in another sport. In fact, my teams go, NFL=Browns, MLB=Reds, NBA=Pistons, NHL=Blue Jackets. My second favorite teams in each sport are....just kidding. Second favorites are for Bengals fans.

Maybe you need to quit acting like you are in the 5th grade on recess. I'd probably shit my pants if you, even one time, admitted that you were wrong about anything.
Normally I don't dig up old threads to say "I told you so", but since you'd shit your pants if I ever admitted I was wrong about something....does the same apply to you? Do you admit when you're wrong? You haven't yet.

Sure the browns have had a bad run of luck, but there are not witches/warlocks putting curses on a football team. The world is not out to get cleveland, contrary to the conspiracy/curse excuse that surfaces way too much with cleveland sports fans.

The browns have been very unlucky with a lot of pickups... but the reason they don't succeed is bigger than that. If Winslow, Edwards & Bentley were all healthy, I still don't see them being more than an 8-8 or 9-7 team.

So the answer is, 'no, it's b/c they aren't good'.

Personally, my team (skins) is pretty good, have won a super bowl recently, and there is no rivalry with the browns... so I guess I can't be put in a neat box.

This is the well thought out response that you were missing 27.

But in response to your post JWins, you're right that the record wasn't going to be stellar this year anyway. The big problem that the unlucky streak with injuries has caused is a lack of continuity. Frye and Edwards were beginning to gel together last year, and missed out on an opportunity to learn in a non-pressure environment. That put the Browns, Frye, and Edwards behind. Winslow had two season-ending injuries, which has caused him to miss significant time, and likely has resulted in a significant diminishment in ability. That has set him behind, probably for a long time.

Now, the team has to suffer through some Arena League talent center all season. That's going to put the whole offense behind.

Suddenly, because of bad luck, a team that I believe would have been ready to compete in '07 is still looking for some light at the end of the tunnel. And with the uncertainty that all these injuries have created, I just don't see it.

And here's what you're missing. I didn't want to put a well thought out response. I wanted to put a joke. If you weren't so god damn uptight about the Browns you would have realized that.

I'd shit my pants if either of you ever realize this point.

We already have one Tibor, and your copycat imitation is stale. I realize your point that it was joke. Realize mine that it wasn't funny.

Now shit your pants.

I thought BN27's post was funny when I thought it was aimed at the Bengals fan that posted before him, and I thought it was funny when I realized that it was aimed at my team. I never saw his attempt as trying to stir the pot. The pot was already boiling. A question asking if the Browns are cursed begs for some friendly smack. The fact that he didn't cower away, or even care when the suckitude of his own team was brought up is, what I suspect, what pissed people off more than the "no, they just suck", statement that he made.

top further add to the curse, Ross Tucker, the now starting center was not hurt in practice yesterday.

However, he was hit in the testicles by a stray football at one point.

So, even if you don't get injured, you get blunt force trauma to the genitals.

Actually, you're right, I did first get pissed off after I made my joke comment back that he was bitter, which fostered the following response.

 at everybody trying to turn around the Browns suckiness on the Raiders.

I, being "everybody", took offense to this particular post. If that means I can't take a joke, so be it. I don't give a shit. Since I'm the only one this post was aimed at, I think I might be in a unique position to have a different outlook on the original "No, they just suck" post.

Actually, and I know you'll find this hard to believe, you're wrong again. "everybody" included you and 8496. At the time I thought he was talking about the Browns making the playoffs and the Raiders not.

This also shows how much I give a shit about the NFL or the Browns, since I didn't remember if they made the playoffs or not.

I can't fault you for not picking up on that though, as it was my mistake on what 8496 was talking about.

edit: and yes, it does mean you can't take a joke.

This thread has reminded me of two essential beliefs I hold:

1) Cleveland is a cesspool that deserves all of the bad luck it receives.

and

2) Cleveland fans are the reason I hate Cleveland

Which reminds me again of why I can't stand fans of other teams making fun of Cleveland:

1. They think it's still funny to joke on teams that accomplish nothing, which is kind of like still cracking jokes on the fat girl from third grade when you're a Senior in high school.

2. They can't understand why a percentage of passionate Cleveland fans are tired of the constant jokes - as if I need to go through the litany.

3. They get pissed when Cleveland fans take offense.

Funny how that circle works out. From now on, I'll make sure to laugh at every conceivable joke directed at any Cleveland team. Sure, there are Cleveland fans out there that don't mind the barrage. And thicker skin, they could not have. But that's not me. So pardon if I stick up for my team - regardless of how much it makes you hate me or the city.
