BRIEF OBSERVATIONS FROM C DECK - USC

There was one play, and I dont remember what play it was but it was in the fourth quarter. All of a sudden, it got loud to the next level. I couldn't believe the atmosphere. We deserve a hand.

My ears still hurt.

I might have really lucked out here. My ears don't hurt at all. My seats are on the end of 4C right beside the USC fans in 6C; so I only directly received 180 degrees of closeup screaming, not 360. However, my throat is a little sore from screaming/yelling though.

FWIW, I talked to several of the USC fans and have to say they were a great group. (Last week) the Navy fans were a real "class act" too. Without a doubt (since they moved the visiting team fans to 6C) the biggest group of asshole visiting fans were the ones from Penn State last year.

Coaching my son's defense today was not particularly easy with my lack of voice... 106,033 fans were awesome! BB73 and I were sitting pretty near the SC band (we were in 5A) and aside from the fact that they play continually, we really only heard them during TV TOs or the like... otherwise it was incredibly loud, and you couldn't hear them at all.

Don't want to steal Bucky Katt's thunder on this topic, but he was apparently offered a trade by a USC fan - Our Stadium for their Coach.... it was made in a good natured way (All the SC fans I came across were pretty cool, I must say... I suppose when you fly 7 hours to Columbus from LA, you're not here to start shit but instead because you love your team... I can respect that) and says quite a lot about how that guy felt about the atmosphere we created.

Good show, fans..

I haven't looked, I'm sure it's been talked about extensively... so... I spare this thread my "plays I wish had been this way or that"

A few quick notes from an airport filled with Trojans on a laptop too small for my fat fingers.

3. Incredible effort by our coaches and players.

6. Proud to be a Buckeye. Great days ahead.

As usual, an outstanding post. I want to second the 2 points I quoted above.

I've been going to tOSU games since '73 and the only time I can remember that I have been there with close to last night's atmosphere was the '74 tsun game.

I have so many feelings about last nights game.

Atmosphere. It was amazing. Words cannot describe how it felt to be in that stadium. I kept saying how USC players, coaches, fans have never witnessed anything they were going to witness on Saturday night. I am glad we the fans, alumni, students did not disappoint.

I truly felt that I was witnessing something special. I truly felt that this was it, my beloved alma mater was finally going to silence all the critics and doubters. It was by far the most amazing game I have ever been too. I went to school 99-04, had season tickets every year. Went to both Texas games. Nothing compared to last night. NOTHING. Then it was all gone. So sad, so hard to deal with.

When OSU loses football games I have a very hard time reading, watching listening to any "recap" or discussion of the game. Well I stayed away for most things, but as the fiance and I were packing up our suitcases in the hotel room, I decided to turn on ESPN. Wrong choice. I was able to see them appoint Matt Barkley as the second coming of Tim Tebow. My goodness this [censored]ed me off. He looked rattled all night and in my mind did nothing special.

No matter what anyone says, Joe McKnight won that game for USC. His 11 yard run on 2nd down was sick. He made 2 excellent cut backs that gave them a managable 3rd down. Next play he got into space and picked up the 1st down. He was the X-factor.

I do not agree with a lot of the play calling for OSU. That is all I will say, I love this site too much to get banned.

I did not encounter any bad USC fans, most of them were nice and just liked to talk football.

I want to say thank you to all who were at the 'Shoe last night. It was a great experience.

Go Bucks!

I'd say both. Those may not be the two best offenses you'll see this season, but I doubt there's a defense in the country better than the two that were on the field last night.

There is a team with a pretty good defense in Gainesville, FL.

My main observation. I left every bit of my energy, soul and voice in B deck Saturday night, it would have been nice to see the offensive coaching staff give the same effort.

That was a game we should have won. We spotted them seven points and had them against the ropes. So what did we do? We throw a couple of weak jabs and then back away. My desire to invest a 15 hour work day on my feet, walk to the stadium and then lose my mind and voice for three plus hours only to have the team quit trying to win in the third quarter has come to an end.

Yeah, the defense looked good, but keep in mind that USC's QB is a freshman. Thats right he was probably going to prom 4 months ago, and he just walked into the shoe at night and beat OSU. A freshman QB should NEVER come into Ohio Stadium and walk out with a win.

Right. But a veteran OL and deep and talented RB's can. IIRC Barkley threw 2 passes on the final drive, one to McKnight, I feel you or I could complete, then one into double coverage, that dude made a good catch on. It was much more than just a true frosh. dude had composure, but it's not like he won it singlehandedly.

This is what I was screaming at my TV about the second the refs signaled touchdown. This SHOULD have been a review, especially considering how quick they were to take another look at boom's touchdown run.

Didn't they review a bunch of other plays that were meaningless and upheld? They couldn't review a 4th down goal line play?

Why is this picture still circulating when you can't see his knee, which isn't touching the ground?

wonderful. Can you see the defender behind the lineman? I mean, with your x-ray vision (needed to see his knee), you should be able to notice that he's hitting him back...

and he wasn't there when Stafon crossed the goalline. His body is twisted post-hit in the pixelated, unclear pictures circulating around the web.

But someone said it best last night, we're not cryami fans.
