Favre says arm feeling 'fatigued,' will ask for fewer throws in afternoon

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Brett Favre said his rocket right arm feels "fatigued" -- but not sore -- during a break from his fifth day of practice with the New York Jets.

"My arm's kind of dragging a little bit today," the quarterback said Wednesday after the Jets' morning session. "It's not really sore, but just fatigued. To be honest with you, I'm surprised that, I don't want to say I feel good, that I've been able to make it through every practice so far."

Favre 'fitting in better' with Jets after two games

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brett Favre wanted more in his second start for the New York Jets.

The veteran quarterback went into the locker room at halftime Saturday night, hoping his night wasn't over. Coach Eric Mangini told him otherwise.

"I wasn't mad, but I just said I'd like to get a score," Favre said after the Jets' 10-7 win over the Giants.

Favre went 9-of-12 for 96 yards in his two quarters and saw a pretty touchdown pass negated by a penalty. Taking a crash course in learning the Jets playbook since being acquired from Green Bay on Aug. 6, he has been mostly solid in his limited action this preseason.

New York Jets' Favre hinting at retirement

medium_favre225.JPG

Elaine Thompson/APBrett Favre's throwing shoulder is aching, and he's hinting that his career - like the Jets' season - may come to a close this weekend.

Four days away from the biggest game of the season, Brett Favre sounded nostalgic, beaten up -- hinting at a possible shoulder injury-- tired and almost resigned to the fact the Jets blew their shot at the playoffs.
If the end for Favre isn't Sunday against the Miami Dolphins at Giants Stadium, it may be soon thereafter.
Favre said he'll meet with general manager Mike Tannenbaum and coach Eric Mangini soon after the season because he doesn't want things to drag on and get ugly, as they did last season in Green Bay.
Favre talked about how he has had a great career and he's not going to chase ghosts, meaning another shot at the Super Bowl.
And, Favre dropped a bombshell, revealing that his shoulder doesn't feel quite right and he's looking forward to his exit physical and an MRI to find out if there's any damage.
Though Favre said it's premature to talk about retirement, he sounded as if he can't wait to get back to his hometown of Hattiesburg, Miss., and go hunting. But first, the Jets (9-6) meet the Dolphins (10-5) on Sunday in an AFC East clash with playoff implications for both teams.

Well Mangini just got shit-canned, so if they bring in a coach that will fluff his pillows, pay for his massages, put an addition on his house, let him not practice, and give him full and free access to Jessica Simpson's throat at will, even before a playoff game, he'll agonizingly decide to play again in 4 months...wait, is Wade Phillips the next Jets coach?

Thomas Jones blasts Brett Favre for interceptions, says 'team doesn't like it'

Brett Favre is worshipped by owner Woody Johnson and widely respected in the Jets locker room, but that doesn't mean he is immune to criticism. The first dose comes from an unlikely source - Thomas Jones.

Appearing as a guest Tuesday on New York's Hot 97 FM, Jones sacked his quarterback, hinting that Favre should have been benched during his three-interception nightmare in the season-ending loss to the Dolphins. That defeat, the final insult in an epic late-season collapse, may have sealed Eric Mangini's fate.

As opposed to all those teams that like their QB throwing picks like Charlie eats cookies?
