Breastfeeding in the gym: It's a civil right!

I'm of the opinion that sneezing or blowing ones nose in public is inappropriate. Phlegm is a biohazard.

Now you're seeing it my way.

Seriously though, I am 100% interested in the "breast milk as slow, agonizing death" question. Where's our medical people to help me out here. Because if you tell me that I am at no risk, I will surely change my opinion, as long as they whip out both breasts. One for the kid and one for me to look at...

So, you're thinking about grabbing some woman's breast and start feeding or something? What are you so worried about with breastfeeding mothers?

Well, you quoted a post that was, what I thought to be, an obvious exaggeration, but...whatever.

I'm asking why is this different than exposing someone else to your blood. I'm not a breast feeding mother, but I'm assuming there is a certain amount of clean-up involved. That's why I asked if a paper towel soaked in the mother's milk would be considered a "bio-hazard" or "safety hazard" in a hospital. I don't know. I assume it is and my initial reaction is to say, take it somewhere else. Especially when others may be the ones cleaning up after you. I know I've done "blood-born pathogen" training at a job in case I was ever needed to clean up after an injury. The risks I faced were minimal, but still enough to train all of us on proper clean-up. Is this different or not? If it is, fine, but if it isn't, then we've run into a situation where her rights stop where someone else's begins. And this business owner and their employees have rights as well, particularly to not be exposed to something that is so obviously avoidable...

It's an interesting point, Saw, and one which I confess I had not given consideration to. I don't recall Mrs. Buttocks having to do any clean-up post breastfeeding, but then, I also wasn't paying that close attention.

Really, that's my only point here. I have no idea either. I am going off my initial gut reaction and that would resemble Jerry Seinfeld. "Ahh! Cudies (sp?)". As I've said, I may be completely off and if so, say the word and I'll get the "Breastfeed in public now!" signs made up posthaste. I love tits, I swear...Well most tits at least. There is that pic earlier in the thread. I am no different than any other guy in this thread, picturing the hottest chick on the planet breastfeeding at the mall. That's probably the exception to the rule though, unfortunately...

ok, having breastfed both lil' Buttocks children I can say, there was never any cleanup involved.. it is a simple supply/demand system... the milk doesn't come flowing out like a faucet, the baby actually has to suckle to get the milk out.

I have to say, I have no problem with someone feeding their child in public. It isn't like the women are looking for attention or someone to notice their breasts, they are doing a natural act, feeding their child.
