Breakout/clutch performances by back-ups/relative unknowns

Writing an article about past clutch performances by players like Kenny Guiton--anyone have anything in the memory banks that applies?

Doesn't have to be a huge game statistically-speaking, of course. Stuff like Steve Bellisari in 1999 against UCLA.

All ideas appreciated.

Obviously not a "clutch" performance, but true freshman Michael Wiley's performance against Rice in 1996 was pretty damn impressive.

It was just one play and it was a long time ago, so I'm not sure I have the details right:

It was 1987 (I think) against scUM (this I remember) and Greg Frey (I think) had to come in for Tom Tupa (I think) on a 3rd and medium (7 or so yards IIRC). He came in cold and threw a strike on a very important drive. I don't have time to look up the details right now; perhaps someone has a better memory of the event.

does James Laurinitis coming in for Bobby Carpenter at TSUN in '05 count?
If not then, then certainly against Texas in '06 to start the season. Big time break-out on prime time TV in the season's biggest non-conference game. Made a number of tackles, had the forced fumble on the 2-yd line that we returned to almost midfield, and he had an INT in the 2nd half.
