Breaking News: Yates found not guilty by reason of insanity

Classy....

no, classy is when your drowning you child and he struggles to get enough air in his lungs to scream "mommy?!" and then shoving his head back under the water (a quote from her, BTW). or having to chase one of the kids down the hallway when he figures out what was going on... and then drowning him... crazy or not the bitch deserves something very bad and very painful to happen to her.

B.L.

I respect all of the opinions that are posted on this site. I am merely trying to share opinion and some of my own personal experiences to better educate those who may not be familiar with the illness. I would never consider anyone weighing in on a topic as being "wrong". And I am not a psychiatrist, nor do I support many psychiatric opinions. This case is very disturbing and brutally real.

Your statement says it. "And if you think this verdict will somehow do mentally ill people a favor, think again...the outrage this will cause will do the exact opposite...something everyone I have heard discuss the matter seems to agree on." Some people are making rash, pissed off, judgment decisions in this matter which will adversely effect the mentally ill.

Once again, I whole heartedly support everyone on this site expressing their opinion. I am not labeling any of them as RIGHT or WRONG, just trying to put a different spin on things.

So if you heard the voice of God telling you that the only way to "save your children, and assure them a place in heaven", you wouldn't do everything in your power to make that happen.

I agree that this is an unreal, and cruel crime that should be punished. What do you think goes through her head everyday now that she is on meds. and can comprehend what she has done?? Trying to understand what was reality to her at that moment in time is the biggest unkown in this case.

And yes mili the are green.

I suppose I was remiss in not stating, if she is ever medicated to the point of sanity, I do not believe she should walk. Once sane, she should make her way over to the Pen. And, much like they do with Men, I have every confidence the chicks there will give her her comeupance.

I don't understand the argument that "she has to live with what she has done". Who says she is remorseful?? I think it's wrong that people feel that "insane" people should be "treated" and not held accountable for their actions.

scumbags that harm child deserve bad things to happen to them.... JMHO.

There is no assurance that she' remorseful, I suppose that's true. Meds should help her be more 'normal' and it's a very sick mind which would continue without remorse in such a situation. Is her's such a mind? I don't know. I doubt it, cause the probability against is so high.... but, that said, she could well be in that small percent of truely evil people.

Insane people should be treated, and... they should also be held accountable for their actions. The "excuse" of insanity does not mean once she's "sane" she walks. She will then "pay" for her actions with prison time (unless I'm just not remembering how it works correctly... I don't practice criminal law)

I totally agree that people who harm children get exactly what they deserve. If this bitch was tortured by fellow inmates in ways so veil as to be unspeakable, I wouldn't give a shit. The state cannot do it, but if someone else does? Fine by me.

I'm sorry. You must have interpreted my statement as a defense of her actions. If, somehow, I misled you into believing that, I apologize.

I think it's absolutely irrational to have bloodlust about a situation like this. The whole "two wrongs don't make a right" argument doesn't seem to resonate apparently...

So my question is this.... "What punishment would serve society best?" ... not what punishment would make everyone's thirst for blood quenched..
