Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

Ok, Better Call is so awesome. But I just rewatched some of Breaking Bad and think I just realized the meaning of the plastic eye Walt keeps getting fixated on. Humor me...in Season 3, Episode 11, Jesse goes to the Georgia O'Keffee museum. Jesse is blown away as to why someone can get so fixated on a door. She explains that nothing is the same once and why not a door, but remarks that you get fixated on something and you just don't know why. I think that is the meaning of WW and the teddy bear eye...he is fixated by it and there is no reason why, except that he is fixated by it and never sees it the same.

Ok, carry on...

Going back through BB for about the 20th time, so my wife can pay attention.

I guess the only gripe I have is this...

Gus/Mike are pretty fucking smart. The only person to outsmart them is Walt. But Walt was pretty stupid and gets away with it. Gus/Mike do their homework. They do their research. They do their due diligence. They bugged Walt’s house when there was even a question about Skylar. It’s how they knew Walt was going to Beneke’s business to fight him for dipping his worm in Skylar’s honey pot.

When we are past the point of Walt being in Gus’ good graces. When the only reason Walt is even alive is because Gus can’t kill him without a replacement and Gale is dead. Why in the fuck is Walt’s house not bugged? Because Walt would figure it out? What about Jesse’s house? Jesse, the junky that is kept super close around that time. Jesse, who Mike takes on trips to the desert for fake money drops just to make him feel like a hero. Jesse and Walt go over many a plan to kill Gus in Jesse’s living room and Gus/Mike don’t even bug that place? And Walt is fine with discussing his plans to slip some Ricin to Gus there? I just don’t buy it. The DEA/Hank is on to Gus. They raid the laundromat and these guys don’t up the caution to the level of bugging the house of Jesse...

Maybe Gus is still dead because of the way it all went down but it doesn’t make any sense that all Walt and Jesse has to do to discuss killing their ultra-careful boss, is do it in the junkies house. Gus likely still dies. Mike already knows that Walt wants to kill Gus but to not keep more tabs on them within the range of Mike’s skill set is questionable here.

Sooooo, "El Camino", anyone?

Watched it yesterday. Wraps up Jesse's story nicely. It was good, not great. I did enjoy it, and the 2 hours flew by. Aaron Paul deserves a lot of recognition for his performance. He was phenomenal.

Haven’t gotten to it, yet. Currently going through OZ for the first time in a long, long while. El Camino is next on the list, though.
