Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul

That episode was so legit. I will be honest, I did not see Jimmy setting Chuck up in that way, I thought they did something with the backup tape. And yeah, the ending shot with the exit sign was incredible. Glad to see my boy Huel make an appearance, although we will still always live with the mystery of whether or not he ever left that motel room.

I knew, in some way, he was going to expose Chuck's mental illness, and he would do it by showing that he was not truly affected by electro-magnetism. As soon he was in the vacuum shop and the guy asked if he "needed to fit into tight spaces" I knew it was going to be Huell. Given how adept he was at pick-pocketing, I figured he was going to get something on to Chuck. The way it played out was nothing short of brilliant.

For a couple weeks I had been hoping Jimmy would figure a way to get a Tesla Coil in there and light the place up like a Fritz Lang film, but this was much better.

A few of us were discussing this episode at work this morning, and it made me think...'Chicanery' is a top-5 all-time television show episode for me. It was just so damned good...the 2.5 year build to it, seeing Chuck get his comeuppance, the way his exposure played out. Just all perfect. That made me think further...Vince Gilligan is responsible for what I think I'd consider 3 of my top 5...'Chicanery' in BCS, then the back-to-back slam of 'To'hajiilee' and 'Ozymandias' from BB. Those two really play out as one extended episode, and are probably the most intense two hours of television ever. The guys is just unreal.

Since I'm sure you're curious, I'd have to put 'Whitecaps' from the Sopranos, and 'All Middle Ground' from The Wire as the other two.

Favorite episode of Sopranos was probably Pine Barrens -- the episode that Christopher and Paulie lose the Russian in the woods and have to overnight in the abandoned van.

Favorite Saul episode is still Mikes origin episode Five-O.

Favorite episode(s) of The Wire is the one where Bunk gives Omar the speech, Omar sitting on the bench and Bunk telling him about how it was/is and then the episode where Omar testifies in court and gives Levy the biz about how they are both the same.

"I got the shotgun, you got the briefcase."
