Men's basketball: Miller back with Matta as Ohio State assistant

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
During John Groce's pursuit of the men's basketball coaching job at Ohio University, Brandon Miller was hardly a disinterested observer.
Groce and Miller shared an office while working for Thad Matta at Xavier, and their bond extended beyond X's and O's. So Miller was naturally happy that Groce became a head coach.
"I couldn't be more happy for John -- not because I'm sitting where I'm sitting but because he's a great friend and he's got a great opportunity," Miller said.
But Miller was sitting where he was, the Ohio State basketball office, because of Groce's departure. As expected, Miller has been hired as a Buckeyes assistant coach.
Miller served as the Buckeyes' director of basketball operations for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons and as the video coordinator in 2006-07 when Ohio State reached the national championship game.
He left after that season for Butler, his alma mater, to become an assistant coach. Now he's back.
"I couldn't be more excited," Miller said. "Last week when Thad called me and presented me the opportunity to come back to Ohio State, I sat down with my family and we were overjoyed."
