Lol nothing, when you have been getting beat like we have, they can call Ann Arbor anything they want.

Coach, you claim "its [sic] 6:35 pm" but your post clearly shows it was only 6:32 when you sent it to BP. Possible reasons for this:

1. Still using same clock that DickRod used to time practices.
2. Must be all that Southern speed that DickRod recruited.
3. Things are bigger in Texas, faster in AA.
4. Tried to use the locker room countdown to the Ohio game clock to tell the current time.
5. BP is ahead of the curve!

Michigan's Brady Hoke calls Jim Tressel 'a good man' | freep.com

"He's a good man, and I have a lot of respect for him, and they'll fight through that situation, and it will have no effects on the rivalry," Hoke said today during a meet-and-greet luncheon with his coaching staff.

Hoke saw no need to pound away at his colleague.

"I've known Jim Tressel a long time. He's a quality guy, a doggone good football coach, and I don't know that situation," Hoke said. "I know what we're focused on at Michigan."

I'll be completely honest - it will be a lot harder to hate Brady Hoke than it was Rich Rodriguez. He has the Wolverine stench about him, but it seems clear he's a good guy otherwise.

I wish Hoke well in bringing UM up to the level where they can reliably beat most of the teams on their schedule. It will make that final regular-season win that much sweeter for the Buckeyes.

Beating the shit out of Rich Rod teams, watching the continual floundering on the field, etc. was fun. In our message board world, it was made even funnier by the "all in crowd" and a certain dam building scout correspondent. But...

Nothing wrong with respecting the enemy. I mean... I fucking hate Michigan, but I respected Bo as a man, and as a coach. I fucking hate Michigan, but I never thought Lloyd Carr didn't "get it" (unless were are talking about pussy). I'm perfectly willing to deal with Hoke being worthy of respect while still hating Michigan.

Fuck them.

Respect backed hatred feels a lot less guilty. The long list of ridiculousness from both RR and the hyperbolic hype was an easy target but also felt like the derision usually reserved for unworthy Ohio teams.

While many enjoyed the revenge after the nineties, and over a century of elitism (particularly the proportion of that greatness limited to a very small and primitive era of CFB), it was impossible to ignore the sinking feeling about the greatness of the rivalry in the short term. It didn't change what it represents over time, but for one year, was it truly the greatest rivalry in sports when only OSU could beat themselves? That began under Carr in 07 but went to a whole new level under RR, particularly knowing what caliber of players he was signing for the future matchups.

You want the team you don't respect to be a trainwreck. Many would wish that upon PSU or Wisconsin.

You want the greatest rivalry in sports to be so tremendous that it keeps you up at night all season if not year.

Michigan should have great talent that adds to the lineage and tradition of the rivalry, not an inept squad that needs that tradition to compensate for their lack of talent.
