Bracketology and Selection Sunday Discussion

Bruce Pearl is anti-Miami (OH) at-large & Miami's AD took issue with some of his comments. I'm not sure Miami would be last in the Big East, but I don't necessarily disagree with the notion that this team would be bottom-tier in any given power conference.

What if Miami played Auburn in the Big Dance and won?
He has a long history of misjudging Ohio threats.

If Miami Ohio finishes the regular season undefeated i'd be shocked if they get left out if they lose in the MAC tourney.

If they lose to Ohio or Toledo though before the MAC tourney, then it gets important that they win the MAC tourney.

Pearl and Auburn can get fucked though, they are a wildly mediocre team who's basically living off of "but but we have the #1 schedule!!!" losses still have to matter at some point and currently Auburn is 15-14 losing 7 of 8 games (should be 8 losses in a row too they got insanely lucky to beat Kentucky) and currently 11TH PLACE in their conference. So you they have no real complaint about getting "left out"

I was listening to XM on the way home and Jerry Palm just said and I quote "It doesn't matter what Miami does their final 2 regular season games the only thing that matters is the MAC tournament if they go 31-0 and then lose in MAC tournament they are out"

I call BS on that if they lose in MAC tournament they still get in. I actually am hoping Miami goes 33-0 and loses to Akron in the MAC final I want to see the committee have the ball sack to leave out a 33-1 team.

Undefeated regular season i'd be shocked if they get left out.

Lose to Ohio or Toledo to end the regular season and then lose in the MAC tournament and they probably will get left out.

The tournament will expand when TV wants it to expand. The TV execs would LOVE to add another weekend to the tournament somehow.

Could see the first 4 eventually becoming the first 8 and being played the weekend before the 1st round starts. I'm not sure we will ever see much more of a significant expansion though.

Losing to Penn State wouldn't completely kill the hope but it would put it on life support with no margin for error.. They'd 100% have to beat Indiana and then not lose in their 1st B1G tourney game. Then depending on the rest of the bubble/bid steals maybe have to win a 2nd B1G tourney game as well
I think if they win 2 more games they‘ll be in, if they lose 3 straight they’ll be out, and if they only win 1 more (including the conference tourney) they’ll be on the bubble and need breaks to get in.

I hope we can just beat Ped State IU and then win the 1st B1G tourney game that way there's just no sweating it at all.
