I'm surprised to see Wisconsin and Penn State ahead of us in this poll. I know the "experts" have it that way, but I'm not convinced we're not still better than those teams.

Neither of them has played anything close to a road game at USC. If we played their schedules to date, we'd be undefeated, too.

I agree somewhat, but all you have to go on is what you've seen. The Bucks played much better on Saturday, but there are still glaring weaknesses on this team along the lines. We also now have a true frosh running the show. A manchild frosh, but a frosh none-the less. I still don't know what to expect of this team and I don't think any of us will now until we face some serious competition.

Bring-em Young

We stuggle against OU and we drop, i can understand that, we lose to USC we drop, but come on... We beat Troy 28-10, final score says it all, and we still drop. "Bring-em Young" jumps that far ahead?!?!?! come on give us a break already.

And if you even watched the game against Troy (I'm sure that most polsters did not) it could have easily been a 42-10 game with the missed pick 6 by Hines and the (not sure what it was) missed catch by Robiskie.

There is no Love out there for tOSU right now.

:oh:

I have them ahead of OSU for now, but that doesn't mean much. They'll get the chance to figure it out on the field. Wisconsin had a tough road game at Fresno and PSU's offense has looked unstoppable even if the competition has been bad. You can't say the same about OSU against equally bad competition.

Most people who vote in this significantly raise or drop teams week to week, unlike the real polls. Ohio State will have plenty of chances to rise back in the polls, especially ours. I think it's a pretty fair ranking for now...we start beating teams that matter, we move way up, but for now, does anyone think we looked like a Top 10 team against USC? I don't, and not many others did either, so we aren't...yet.

I think our ranking is fairly decent due to our struggles against OU (who has not won a game this season) and the nationally televised game against USC which really got us a lot of negative publicity.

I think it is time for East Carolina to fall out of the top 25. They have suffered a couple injuries and they are starting to hurt.

I still wish I knew more about Brigham Young. I know they put up big numbers but they always have put up big numbers and I'm just not sure how good they are. The same goes with Utah. Just because they beat a very bad Michigan team and have won a couple other games against marginal opponents they get ranked at #17. That's a little bit too high for me.

As someone has stated above things will start to start to shake out as conference teams start to play conference teams all over the country except I still will be uncertain about the teams in the Mountain West.

On a side note, LJB could you get rid of that color for Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. I almost went blind trying to read that

agreed, but unfortunately for auburn the loss to lsu gave them the ability to punish them for the 3 - 2 win the week earlier. its not fair, but it seems to be the way the polls work.

wisky and penn state being ranked ahead of us really isn't an issue in my mind. we'll find out if they should be there in a couple weeks.

Was that 3-2 win really that much worse than our 26-14 win over Ohio, especially when we were trailing 14-12 going into the fourth?

in the eyes of a world in which defense is meaningless and offense is all that matters? from that perspective yes, our win was better. from an objective standpoint our win was probably marginally better. but if there is a such thing as a "better loss". i completely agree with you that their loss was much better than ours.

my personal feeling is that the pollsters wanted desperately to punish auburn for winning a 3-2 game. the lsu loss gave them the excuse they were looking for.

Agreed. I have Auburn as the highest ranked 1 loss team.

I also did not have BYU as high as most, I just don't see it.

Also did not rank Michigan State. Frankly, I don't think beating Notre Dame should do anything for them. Notre Dame stinks. Michigan State is close, but their loss to Cal hurts them.

Auburn at 15 is too low though. I've seen a few of their games. They have such a tough defense, that they are going to be in EVERY game in the SEC. If Auburn played BYU right now, could you honestly see BYU winning? I think not.
