I really doubt there should be 4 top 10 SEC teams right now, but it will take some time to sort out and get into conference play, fucking cupcakes.

Didn't drop us much, but out of the top 10 until we get our feet regrounded and some of the top 10 teams at spots 4-10 actually play somebody. I moved Boise State up some, and Houston comes in...don't know how they can't after that impressive road win, and they could easily run through C-USA as well. That win was really no fluke...Art Briles knows what he is doing. Utah has been pretty unimpressive so far, so they stay in but barely. dUMb may not be a top 25 team, but they have played like it the first 2 weeks, so I have to put them in there. Cincinnati is looking pretty good too.

Please forgive me if have something that seems wildly amiss. I spent the weekened in Columbus drinking and screaming at Matt Barkley, so I really didn't get to watch any of the other games. I've tried my best to catch up since getting home last night.

  1. Florida
  2. Texas
  3. USC
  4. Alabama
  5. California
  6. Ohio State - It's this simple - all the loss really proves at this point is that they are not better than USC. I still think they would beat any of the teams ranked below them.
  7. Brigham Young
  8. Virginia Tech - I've reassessed the last two weeks games and bumped them up a little vs. where I had them last week. I think they're good enough to warrant it.
  9. Ole Miss
  10. Penn State
  11. Oklahoma
  12. Louisiana State - Have seemed rather underwhelming vs. Wash. & Vandy.
  13. Cincinnati
  14. Georgia Tech - I still think this is a good team, but I felt the need to move them down after what happened Thurs. night.
  15. Houston - Transitive property doesn't work quite as much in Week 2 as in Week 1, but I think it's still strong enough at this point to say that Houston deserves this spot based on two weeks' work. Would they beat a team like Georgia? Who knows? That's what the next three months are for.
  16. Oklahoma State - I used the phrase "answered a lot of questions" last week a few times, once in reference to Oklahoma State's defense. Oops.
  17. Georgia
  18. Miami (FL)
  19. Texas Christian
  20. Kansas
  21. Missouri - Win vs. Illinois looked good. Win vs. Bowling Green looked bad. The truth I think is probably somewhere in between.
  22. Auburn - Sounds like Auburn is really getting the running game going.
  23. Clemson - They showed me more in their loss to Georgia Tech than the teams I left out of the poll have showed me in their wins.
  24. UCLA - I don't think they'll stay here, but going east to Neyland Stadium and coming out with a win deserves a little respect, right?
  25. Central Michigan - A lot of people are going to want to put the Wolverines in the top 25 and may think this is a curious choice ahead of them. In my opinion, a close loss at Arizona and a win at Michigan State is more impressive than home wins vs. Western Michigan & Notre Dame.

For those of you looking at my #7 team and saying "Houston - we have a problem", please realize that I rank teams based solely on the reults on the field so far this season. What I expect to happen the rest of the way has as little bearing on my poll as I can factor in.
