For the life of me, I can't figure out how LSU is getting so much love besides the usual SEC kool-aid. They have looked pretty bad in their first two games, especially considering their competition.

It is good to see Oregon State getting a little love, though. I think they have a huge game coming up against Cincinnati... win that and I think they should have a lot of people's attention.

Im surprised no one has Michigan...I know we hate them but with them beating the ALMIGHTY Notre Lame I have a gut feeling they will be ranked.

I admit I had them at 25... my poll got in late so I wasn't sure if it was counted. Didn't want to rank them but honestly the bottom of the poll is getting hard to fill out, so...

Didn't drop us much, but out of the top 10 until we get our feet regrounded and some of the top 10 teams at spots 4-10 actually play somebody.

That's why I moved us to 4 - we were 90 seconds away from #3 in my poll. I would've made us and USC 3/4 given the way that game went.

I refuse to move us down for taking a challenge and playing them tough while rewarding teams like PSU and California for pasting mediocre competition.

It's all subjective.

I think a lot of the problem right now is that even though many rankers want to rank teams lower, it is difficult to think of who should be ranked any higher.

These first few weeks of the poll are crap shoots anyway. . . What do we really know about most teams?

So, Houston's undefeated, they won at Okie State by 10 points (no fluke, as they were up 24-7 at the half), and they're only ranked 7 spots below Okie State.

At what point does actual on-the-field performance outweigh expectations?

For my part, I didn't rank either of them. Didn't rank Georgia, either. I expect nothing.
