I had moved Oklahoma into my #1 slot and moved Florida to #2 at least that one will be decided on the field.

I have a problem with Utah and Boise State and even TCU being ranked that high but I guess we will see a little of what they are made of in their bowl games. I also don't know how Oregon got to be the #15 team in the nation but I guess it boils down to who else would you put up there.

So here is my poll and you may have had at it.

1 Oklahoma
2 Florida
3 Texas
4 Alabama
5 USC
6 Texas Tech
7 Penn St.
8 Ohio St.
9 Oklahoma St.
10 Utah
11 Boise St.
12 TCU
13 Mississippi
14 Michigan St.
15 Cincinnati
16 BYU
17 Iowa
18 Missouri
19 Georgia Tech
20 Georgia
21 Virginia Tech
22 Pittsburgh
23 Maryland
24 Northwestern
25 Boston Coll.

I guess other than our usual back-and-forth about the mid-majors, the only thing I am wondering is how Missouri is still #18...they have a great offense, but their defense is awful and they've lost their last 2 games (including to 7-5 Kansas) without really showing much. And Maryland?

The old "eye test" thinks Missouri can outscore almost any other team ranked beneath them. They had a bad hair day:( against Kansas but the Jayhawks can put up points on a number of teams. Maryland at #23 is not that bad. It's bad but not that bad:). I just cannot see putting Oregon:! or Oregon State:! in my top 25. Talk about defenses and Ball State proved their true colors against Buffalo. That was enough for me and the Cardinals.

Utah with a #1 vote?

Laughable.

Of course that's the same thing they kept saying about the one AP guy who kept voting Alabama #1 during the 1992 regular season...

Who am I kidding. It's fucking Utah. Nevermind.

Guess we'll see if it's so laughable when they play Alabama. The posting of the BP Poll past me...but here were my rankings. These were from weeks ago, obviously.

1. Utah (2)
2. Florida (3)
3. USC (4)
4. Alabama (1)
5. Texas (5)
6. Oklahoma (6)
7. Penn State (7)
8. Texas Tech (8)
9. Ohio State (9)
10. Boise State (10)
11. Oklahoma State (12)
12. Cincinnati (13)
13. TCU (14)
14. Georgia Tech (15)
15. Oregon (16)
16. Michigan State (17)
17. BYU (18)
18. Georgia (21)
19. Missouri (20)
20. Ball State (11)
21. Northwestern (22)
22. Iowa (23)
23. Virginia Tech (NR)
24. Oregon State (24)
25. Florida State (25)

I have had Utah higher than most for awhile, and justification was being undefeated with victories over three ranked teams. I still think that the Big 12 is overrated. OkieState and Missouri haven't looked like powerhouses at all. I feel Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma will look lackluster as well. Florida and USC lost games to teams that Utah either beat, or were worse than ones that Utah as beat. Don't lose. Boise State was never a contender in my opinion, but Utah was different, and I didn't hold against them that they played in a non-BCS conference. I'm excited to see them play Alabama, and if they win that game, then what? Anyway...I wasn't trying to not stand behind my rankings...just didn't ever see this posted and thought the last week rankings were never posted. You can make fun of Utah being #1 all you want, but they are the only team not to lose. But I understand that some people feel that the BCS "national' championship isn't for everybody, just maybe a group of about 50 teams.

It's a simple analysis, JXC... Give Utah Florida, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma or USC schedule and tell me if they're undefeated. Give Florida, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma or USC Utah's schedule and tell me if they lose?

The mere incident of being undefeated does not a #1 ranking make. Where did you have Ball State before they screwed the pooch? #2? Didn't think so.

You're entitled to your opinion. But I can't understand how you are googly eyed about Utah running the table against the 70th toughest schedule in the nation. (Sagarin)

Ball State didn't play ANYBODY. Like I said...Alabama is the FOURTH ranked team Utah is playing...and so far they look like the best team in the country...but, what do I know. You can assume what you want...i'm just baising it on facts. And yes sagrin has their schedule as the 70th cuz they've play more cupcakes than most, but they have played as many ranked team as Florida or USC.
