BP Poll Thread (with Week 1 updates)

Cleve straight up said no to Miami-FL. BKB says Miami is still better than FSU. Tennessee is ahead of Georgia by some. And no one has Navy. That's one crazy set of polls....

However, I give props to anyone that has Wisconsin in there. Pulling up the straps and dropping 56 to pull out the win is impressive in my book, at home or no.

Yeah, I didn't drop Miami behind FSU. Mostly it's 'cause of starting position (I had them high.. like 5th I think and had FSU low... like 18th...) and the fact that even though they lost, they are the better team - at least they have a QB. If FSU had looked better beating them, I would have moved FSU up far enough, and Miami down low enough to accomodate.

This week Wisconsin plays Temple ... Calhoun will probably have 500+ yards rushing after two games.

Notre Dame 17 - Michigan 10, at Michigan.

Looks like my voting ND #15 wasn't so far off the mark after all.

Michigan will probably drop out of the top 20.

VT and BC look tough, albeit against weak comp.

Oklahoma continues to unimpress - they can stay out of the top 25 for a few more weeks.

Since I started the whining about ND's rating, let me try to bring it to a close.

A good poll trys to nail where teams should be rated, not what they 'deserve' based on past performance or previous rankings.

The BP pollsters did pretty good. I, on the other hand, am just a bitter old man.
