Clarity,
Did you receive the two PM's I sent to you by chance?
I did. Sorry, as backlogged as I am in regards to things I need to do on the site, I'm even further behind with PMs. I have 153 unread waiting for me, just need to sit down and grind through them at some point.
Since I'm already here, I think the answer to your question is that a portion of that thread was moved to the thread 'black hole' because some of the posts were out of line/too problematic to stay up. When the admins do this, they try to limit the collateral damage, but that's not always practical when fishing, say, dozens of posts out of a thread that has hundreds.
An example of this in practice would be the recent Matt Sylvester thread. Poor Matt has back problems that would leave us normal folks crippled. The wonders of modern medicine can keep athletes going until they get a chance to really investigate/repair injuries. Through this pain and physical limitation, the guy has been a warrior for the team -- but when he has bad games, he's brutalized for it on various forums, much more so than he's celebrated when he pulls something like an MSU game out. So when people here get a little too venomous in their posts about him (about *any* player/coach/etc.), specifically when it crosses a line to the point where we're ashamed (as a site) about how we're coming off to the player in question (personal attacks, etc.), we lasso the problematic section of a thread, and dump it in a holding bin. It's not about censorship, it's about maintaining the atmosphere here, and trying to be seen at least a bit less of a player/team bashing community than the other sites are. It really comes down to the very difficult "criticism" vs. "bashing" balancing act that we constantly have to weigh and maintain. I just use Matt Sylvester as an example, because that thread is the most recent example of this. The thread you're asking about, I believe -- I'm looking into it way after the fact -- was more a case of a few posters letting their personal differences get far too personal, and vitriolic. That section of that thread was yanked in order to afford everyone a cool down.
Sorry about the delayed response.
