It's down to you and me Jax, fighting for that 4th playoff spot. Since the All-Star break I've turned in some real gems, such as being whitewashed 0-12, and losing this last week 3-6-3. I was in first place overall heading into the break.

Inge, Ibanez, Hudson, Huff, and Ludwick have done neither jack nor [censored] in over a month, and David Wright is on the DL.

I'm crawling over the finish line and will likely go out with a whimper next week. It appears Jake's catch-and-release program is the correct route to team-building.

What about my plan, which is to let the computer draft 45 1B for me and then hit the waiver wire like crazy all year.....

I'm 9.5 games back. Chances are slim and none.

I got off to a horrible start the first 6 weeks and never recovered. The Webb and Reyes injuries just killed me.

I get that a lot in my leagues, but the truth is I have 13 of my first 15 draft picks on my roster, including Beltran rotting on my DL for months (Aviles was a bust). The bottom of my roster, on the other hand, is subject to recycling every time they disappoint me. :p

Looks like I'm done. Ahiacitian is working me over 9-1 with two days remaining. Lost Lincecum AND Happ this week, plus had to release Joba since the Yankees aren't throwing him more than three innings per start anymore, saving him for the post season.

Five quality starts, 30Ks, maybe 3Ws, down the shitter. :smash:

Lincecum goes down with back spasms in the same week he would've been a two start pitcher for my playoff team.

[censored]ing awesome. :smash:

I feel for ya, I have Lincecum in my other league, and he could cost me my playoff win in that league. Sucks when your best pitcher is a no-show for playoff time...

Made the playoffs again, knocked out in the semis again. My bullpen blew up at a bad time. :ohwell:
My goal for the year was to split offensive categories and win 4 of 6 (W, K, ERA, WHIP) in the pitching category through my starters.

Drafting Ervin Santana was my first mistake, not cutting my losses and dumping him was my second. All told though, my big, big FA dips were grabbing Inge, Zobrist and Kendry Morales who were all available in our league well into May.

My starting rotation blowing up down the stretch was my undoing. Having Lincecum on two starts to bring down my staff's ERA and WHIP was crucial to carrying me. Even my 'pen imploded last week ... I didn't record a single save and only would have needed 2 to force a split. So frustrating since Pedroia and Ibanez went absolutely ape-shit last week and carried my offense, and that wound up being wasted.

Dustin Pedroia
(Bos - 2B)
5 3 6 0 20 .458

Raul Ibanez
(Phi - OF)
6 4 7 0 26 .353

I created this year's league and just sent an email to managers from last year's league. I want to give last year's guys first crack at it but some email addresses were hidden. If you played my league last year, want in again, and didn't get an email, PM me.
