BP Fantasy Baseball (2008-2024, Current Champion = MD Buckeye again)

Just a heads up, Jake, but I'm going to be gone from the 13th-30th for Annual Training. I'll have my lineups set until the farthest ahead I can get them, but I'm pretty much just guessing with my SP's. If you want to monitor my squad (Kelly's Killers) while I'm away, feel free to do so. If you feel the need to put guys in who are playing, go ahead, but I play you next week, so I'll understand if you leave them undisturbed. I'll be back & active as soon as I return, so just giving you a notice of why my team might not be completely set in the next few weeks.

Set my lineups until the 30th. Just a guessing game with my SP's, but it will have to do for now. I'll do what I can on what little, if any downtime we get to update that. Just letting you know, Jake, so you don't think I've abandoned my team until then, even if they're pretty awful.

Thanks for the heads up.

While I could set your line ups I've learned to stay away from doing so. Unfortunately, I did that for people in another league, forgot to do it one day and got accused of playing favorites.

So you're on your own. At least these days Yahoo has a free app for smart phones. It does work for setting line ups in a pinch.

Just got back & it looks my team took a pounding while I was at 29 Palms. Go figure, because I took quite a pounding myself from that place. At least I'm still within sight of the final playoff spot. I tried to set my lineups, but there was literally zero service at Camp Wilson & we weren't allowed to take our phones to the field, where we spent virtually the entire time while we were out there. I thought about taking it out with us because a few guys had bought solar charges for their phones, but every single one of them got fried by the all encompassing desert sun.

Sorry about that.

Wait. No I'm not.

I had bigger concerns at the time, such as getting shot, blown apart, or getting a rectal thermometer shoved up my rear end, so I'm concise with my team getting the silver bullet instead of me.

Hunter Pence must be on an all-time slump. He's only gotten two hits in his last ten games & they BOTH came in the same game. He's 2-37 over that span. Can't say I've ever looked back at a match up and saw a player accumulate ZERO Total Bases and played in every single game that week.

Even with that abyss on my team, I've somehow climbed back into sixth, but only by a game. There's a significant gap between fifth place & the rest, so it should be a battle to get that sixth and final playoff spot.

Overhauled about half of my roster six weeks in and won 6 of 7 weeks going into the break. My team actually looks decent now but I'm using a lot of young guys. How they'll hold up over the rest of the season remains to be seen.

Down to the final three weeks (This week included) of the regular season. Only two of the six playoff spots are up for grabs and me & Ahiacitian have a decent enough lead ahead of Put It In Her Pujol going down the stretch. My team has had a solid run the past few weeks to stay in sixth, but they're still not very good, so I'm still not completely confident of a playoff berth quite yet with two of my next three matchups against the current #2 & #3 seeds. Barring a complete meltdown I should be able to get in at sixth, but I highly doubt I'll be able to catch Ahiacitian in fifth.

im just hoping I don't have to put any more pitchers on the DL or my playoff run will be very short

Robinson Cano plunked on hand

TORONTO -- New York Yankees All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano left Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays after being hit in the left hand with a pitch by J.A. Happ in the first inning.
Cano remained in the game long enough to score on a three-run home run by Alfonso Soriano, the next batter, but did not come out to take the field in the bottom of the inning. He was replaced at second base by Eduard Nunez.

Following a lengthy delay, the Yankees announced that Cano was sent to a hospital for X-rays after being initially diagnosed with a contusion.
