In the "quality start" era guys who bridge the gap from starter to closer are important. Every good team has strong set up men.

If those guys shit the bed it doesn't matter much who you have at closer, because heaven forbid he pitch more than an inning.

One year, I got so pissed at my guano-flavored twatsicles that I changed the name of my team mid-season to "A$$holds" because that's the only category I ever won the vast majority of weeks.

By some miracle along the lines of curing all the lepers or making New Coke taste good, my limp-dicked hosewaffles managed to ride TB starting pitching to only a 5-7 loss. Of course my SS broke his dick and triggered a brawl in the process, and I had so many guys DTD that it might as well have been a new COVID variant, but I am somehow not out of playoff contention after week 1. Bravo, I look forward to a shortened game period exposing all of the grand canyon-sized chasms in this lineup this week, and returning to the familiar curb-stomping I will regularly take in the process.

So you're Bonilla's Contract. Smith and Reynolds saved my ass because no one else hit for shit. A couple of RP implosions killed my ERA and WHIP, but at least they got some strikeouts. Your SPs kicked ass - 11 wins?

Yes I am. I was like a homer and an RBI away from tying those 2 categories, but my "hitters" molested the Mendoza Line so often they got brought up on charges. My SP did indeed do well, which kept my ERA down and my Ks up. But that's not going to happen every week.
