I agree with everything said here...just wanted to make sure that Clarett is the biggest asshole here. He's the one who approached ESPN, he's the one who vowed "to get TOSU", and he's the one who is lying and personally attacking Jim Tressel. ESPN sucks ass for printing this shit without doing any homework on it, but I have to admit, after watching Sportscenter and listening to Mike and Mike this morning, ESPN is not putting nearly the negative spin on this that I thought they would. It's probably still coming, but so far, it doesn't appear to be as bad as it could have been.

I quit going to the ESPN site a long time ago. The only reason I will put that channel on my TV is to watch a game they are covering. I mute it and walk away at half time and haven't watched the Trev and Mark show in so long I can't remember the last dumbass thing I heard them say.

I refuse to give them one more second of my time than is absolutely neccessary to see the game I want to watch.

My loathing of them goes beyond the OSU bashing and gets more to the disgust over their moving beyond reporting the news and into being the news. ESPN original programming, espn the magazine, espn 25 the book, espn 25 the dvd, yadda yadda yadda.

It reminds me of Spaceballs where Mel Brooks does the yoda spoof and says the whole thing is about "merchandizing...spaceballs the t-shirt, space balls the coloring book..."

It wont make a damn to ESPN or their ratings but for my own personal satisfaction they have long since been boycotted in the Jaxbuck household.

I'm not boycotting ESPN this weekend thats for damn sure. Last time I checked, OSU is playing on ESPN this weekend.
Wow three and half hours of some second rate announcer talking about the allegations and sucking off Kyle Orton. I think I'll turn off the sound and listen to 1460, as usual.

Dude, you forgot "Spaceballs, the toilet paper."

"So, Lonestar, at last we meet, for the first time, for the last time. And you will see that evil will always triumph.....because good is dumb."

Espn makes it money from advertisers. If the story is not true, we should contaact the advertisers and inform them that if they don't insist ESPN
retract the story in as big a way as they presented it, we will boycott their products. That's how you hurt ESPN.

I am allready done with ESPN. I banished myself from all things ESPN yesterday around noon.
They ONLY, and I mean only time I will tune into that station will be
to catch Herbie and the boys on gameday, and Bucks games.

It's difficult for a real sports fan to totally boycott ESPN. They are the only source for many games.

I agree with the statements that ESPN is all about entertainment and marketing now, rather than sports and journalism. It's pretty sad. They'd much rather show T.O. doing a stupid TD celebration or yapping at McNabb or Ray Lewis than analyze whether or not bracket coverage on T.O. will slow Philly's offense.

I can't boycott the channel. But I avoid their non-sports shows, like Dream Job, although I do like PTI. But the 6:00 p.m. SportsCenter with Dan Patrick has been unwatchable for me for months. It's all soap opera.

And their NFL pre-game show has gone downhill. I can't stand watching Michael Irvin.

And I've never looked at or touched an issue of ESPN the magazine. Given a choice, I'd rather wipe my ass with razor blades than use that rag.

Thats fine, but you still get to WATCH the game, and you'll be watching it on ESPN. If you are die hard enough to not watch the game, my hat goes off to you, unfortunately I am not.

We cancelled cable (went down to basic) last week just to save some extra dough. Tell ya the truth I don't miss a single show/program/channel. Including ESPN.

What do you do now if you can't watch cable TV? Do you read or something?? :shake:

:p
