Mike Tyson-Jake Paul: How to watch the fight, time, odds

90

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul had to wait an extra four months for his high-profile match with 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The delay from the original plan for July was caused by Tyson having a medical episode on a plane and needing time to recover from a stomach ulcer.

The rescheduled bout is set for Friday night at the $1.2 billion retractable-roof home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas. The state has sanctioned it as a pro fight with some modifications.

Here’s a guide for watching the fight:

When is the Mike Tyson-Jake Paul fight?

It’s hard to give an exact time for the main event Friday night, but it could approach midnight EST. The telecast starts at 8 p.m. EST.

Is the Tyson-Paul fight free on Netflix?

While this isn’t the more common, and more expensive, pay-per-view format followed by most major boxing events, it does require a Netflix subscription. Netflix reported more than 280 million subscribers worldwide at the end of the third quarter in 2024.

What are the odds on the Tyson-Paul fight?

Paul is a minus-210 betting favorite, according to BetMGM Sportsbook. That means the payout for a Paul victory would be slightly less than half the amount of any bet. The most bet prop is for Tyson to win by KO/TKO or DQ (+275), followed by Tyson to win on points (+1000) and Tyson to win in the first round (+1400).

What’s the age difference between the fighters?

It’s 31 years. Paul is 27.

Mike Tyson vows to bring 'devil himself' into ring vs. Jake Paul

As Mike Tyson prepares to compete in his first professional boxing match in nearly two decades against YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul, the 58-year-old Tyson wants to remind the world why he was once considered "the baddest man on the planet."

For a newer generation of fight fans who never had a chance to experience him in his heyday, Tyson has presented himself as a happy and fun-loving individual. But when the bell rings Friday night at AT&T Stadium, Tyson promises the old "Iron Mike" will be back -- if only for one night.

"I'm bringing the devil himself [to the ring]," Tyson said to a small group of reporters during Tuesday's open workout, just days ahead of his highly anticipated encounter with Paul.

And although he has struck a friendship with Paul, he warns his opponent to not mistake his kindness for weakness.

"There are no feelings attached," Tyson said. "My own mother should be very careful if she has to get in the ring with me. When it's over, it's over. But while the process is going on, my intention is to hurt him. I hope he has the same intentions, or he is in trouble."

Not only did he promise to knock out his opponent, who is 31 years younger, but Tyson also said that the ferocity he will bring to the ring will make him unrecognizable to his younger children, specifically his 16-year-old daughter, Milan.

"She saw me on television fight with Roy Jones [in 2020], but she has never seen anything of this magnitude in her life," Tyson said. "My kids don't really think of me as the baddest man on the planet. They look at me as Dad [and tell me] sit your old ass down.

"But on Nov. 15 they will have a different opinion of me."

Just sayin': I'm guessing... ... that Tyson is just doing this for the money. It's really too bad he didn't manage his money (and I guess his life too for that matter) better....

How Mike Tyson went from a net worth of $300 million to broke

Netflix will stream Mike Tyson's upcoming Jake Paul fight, which comes with a multi, multi-million dollar paycheck.

n Friday, November 15th, former Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will climb into the ring to fight Jake Paul, a fighter who is decades younger than he is. The fight will stream on Netflix (NFLX) .

Tyson is famous — and infamous — for many things. He was the undisputed boxing heavyweight champion of the world in the late 1980s. He was also one of the most famous and highest-paid athletes in the world at the time and had a reported net worth of around $300 million, according to Celebrity Network. Other estimates put "Iron Mike" Tyson's net worth north of $420 million at one time.

But the money was apparently not meant to last. Over the years, Tyson found himself in serious trouble on more than one occasion. He was convicted of rape in 1992 (he claimed the sex was consensual) and sentenced to six years in prison. Tyson was paroled after just three years.

After his release from prison, he booked a fight with Evander Holyfield, but during the bout, Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear and was disqualified from the fight. As a result, the Nevada Athletic Commission revoked his license to box for 16 months, which surely affected his earnings.

All along, Tyson was living a lavish lifestyle, spending money on multiple multi-million dollar homes across the U.S., luxury cars, jewelry and bodyguards.

He also owned two $70,000 Bengal tigers, which required a special habitat at his home in Las Vegas, plus an expensive caregiver who reportedly earned $125,000 a year.

No I don’t think it’s a money grab. He has a few businesses in Cannabis that are doing pretty well I believe.

Man I can’t wait to see what Tyson has left. For the Jones fight in 2020 it just seemed like Mike wasn’t going for the knockout. This time I think he’s approaching this differently. He’s in incredible shape that’s for sure.

Here’s hoping Mike can give us one more “YouTube knockout”
