It doesn’t matter. Forward progress is the most forward spot of the ball in the guy’s possession when he is tackled. He could have been moving backward, and been hit and knocked into the end zone, but if the ball was at the half-yard line when the tackle was initiated, that’s where they’ll spot it.

Tell me again why Matt Campbell is always mentioned as a possible tOSU head coach someday?

In their roughly 120 year history of football pre-Campbell the Cyclones won less than 45% of their games. In over a century of play in the Big8/Big XII they have never won the conference championship. No one wins at ISU. He's won over 56% of his games after taking over a program that was 8-27 the 35 games before he got there. He's beaten Oklahoma twice - ISU has 6 wins over OU all time - and got them to the Big XII title game.

Young coach, doing things no one has done in over 100 years of trying, gets you noticed. He's also an Ohio native.
