Boston College 27, Notre Dame 14 (Final)

How is Clausen getting gametime? Sharpley actually gives them a chance, but the boneheaded decision to ride on Clausen's shoulders is part of what's making Ntre Ame look like a steaming pile of turds on offense. If their offense got going, I bet it would help their defense a lot. Then again, I wouldn't know a schematic advantage if it hit me in the face...

America had better hope we don't lose any of our last games, lest they get Boston College and South Florida in the NC game...

Depending on Tyrod Taylor's health, I think BC will lose to VT. USF going undefeated is looking like a real possibility though and I'm all for it. I think it'd be pretty cool to see them get a crack at an NC.

See my post in the ND thread regarding Jimmy/Sharpley

As far as the game goes, I was there and was not impressed with the offense one bit first half, nor was I impressed with special teams. Aside from a blocked field goal, they botched a punt with a low snap...and then the punter kneels to retrieve the ball. They also had a kickoff moved back after excessive celebration, which resulted in poor pursuit and good field position for an eventual TD by BC. They also missed a makeable field goal, this team is still lacking a kicker.
I think this game was winnable. Matt Ryan is a good QB, but our defense kept us in this one. Aside from some horrible run defense that gave up a quick TD, they didn't look too bad and accounted for 7 of our 14 points. Crum Jr. wasn't in the game, seems to have been banged up from UCLA. I would have liked to see Evan Sharpley in the first half over Clausen. We also didn't get to see the overturned 1st down in the 4th quarter, the one that was overturned as they changed the spot of the ball. I thought you couldn't challenge the spot of a ball? In any event, it cost us a TD, as the 4th and 1 catch in the endzone was called back for holding on the next play, I'm pretty sure they would have gotten in again if it had been 1st down. We get another chance to score, that would have put us down only 6 points with 8 minutes to play and defense was doing well at that point.
O-line still isn't opening any holes on runs, protection wasn't at its worst on passing, but they were having problems picking up the blitz. Aldridge looks to be out for now, hopefully it won't be long as hes the starting RB and the only one capable of executing in all aspects of his position: blocking, catching, running.
