Idaho, 1-7, fires head coach Akey

MOSCOW, IDAHO (AP)
Idaho fired football coach Robb Akey with the team 1-7 and coming off a blowout loss.

The school announced the move Sunday and promoted offensive coordinator Jason Gesser to interim coach. Gesser, a former Washington State quarterback, has been on the Idaho staff for two seasons.

Idaho Vandals announce 2013 Football Schedule

This evening, Idaho Director of Athletics Rob Spear revealed the Vandals? full 2013 slate. Idaho will open the season at North Texas, and will also travel to Arkansas State and New Mexico State. The New Mexico State Aggies will also visit the Kibbie Dome in a rare, same season home-and-home series.

Being on campus in Moscow...Idaho football is pathetic. However, Rob Akey is awesome. So pissed he got fired. The Vandals are always going to be bad...we cannot recruit here. So now we will get the same results, only with a boring head coach. Coach Akey shot skeet at least.
