Boise might have to share the WAC title with Hawaii and Nevada. Going from the national championship to co-champs of the WAC has got to hurt the faithful. Well, there's always the Humanitarian Bowl. I hear Boise in December can be quite the vacation spot.

This brings a tear to my eye, but only because I am giggling my ass off at the fact that they can no longer be touted as "NC Caliber" by the mediots at ESPiN.

Re: 1st Field Goal Was Good?

I remember one of the tv talkers immediately claim how odd it was that Nevada didn't have the tall goalposts that everyone else seems to have.

But I will say this, if I'm coach Pete and I think that was technically a good FG, then I make a big stink about it with the WAC office. Not to change the outcome of the game, we lost. But to help Brotzman out both for his self confidence and to shut the haters up.

Yeah, that's kinda what we mean by "sisters of the poor". Got high school goalposts? Think about it...

i knew it was no good as soon as it left his foot...

So obvious that our players began to rush the field and ESPN initially gave us the points? So obvious that the announcers delayed the call? The crowd was only cheering because they saw the refs make the call. Yes, a field goal that was a yard wide when it hit the NET was OBVIOUSLY no good.

You do realize that the announcers, the people doing the score for ESPN, and most of the crowd are off to the side, right? There's a reason that they don't put the refs up in the ESPN booth....it's the worst angle to make that call.

Maybe there was a second kicker....in the grassy knoll.
To be fair, I will add this one. He made me lol...

"second kicker"

In all seriousness, a lot of the hatred of Boise should instead go to eSpin again. While Boise, like Fredo last year, got all full of themselves, it was eSpin who goes on and on about them. Boise is a nice team, with a nice story, with a God awful field. They are what they are, a solid mid-major team, who can beat just about anyone, given enough time to prepare, and that their opponent, has a bad game, overlooks them, or doesn't care about the game (see BCS bowls past)

While I truely believe with what I typed above, [censored] boysee and the horse they rode in on

Boise State kicker becomes target of threats, barbs

Kyle Brotzman (35) missed a game-winner at the end of regulation then a short attempt in overtime in the Broncos' 34-31 loss.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Dealing with missing two field goals in Boise State's loss to Nevada is difficult enough.
Now Boise State kicker Kyle Brotzman is having to endure threats and an endless dose of taunts and barbs on social networking sites.
Brotzman missed a game-winner at the end of regulation then a short attempt in overtime in the Broncos' 34-31 loss Friday night.
Within hours of the loss, police got reports about angry fans leaving threatening telephone messages with a person thought to be with the Brotzman family.
Then came a handful of Facebook pages, some filled with ugly name-calling and jabs aimed at Brotzman -- while other posts offered support.
