I've tentatively arranged for server and board upgrades this coming weekend (OSU/Wiscy weekend). I'll (and I use "I" very loosely) be upgrading PHP, mySQL, and finally vB twice. Once to the most recent release version 2, and then to the most recent beta of version 3 (which is on the cusp of being a release candidate finally I believe).

During this process, the board could well go up and down a few times. When it comes back completely, there will be a number of significant changes, and myriad minor adjustments. It's still the same software, but it's been completely rewritten from scratch, and there are a lot of new features that are really terrific.

Some things may well break. I may or may not be able to reintroduce little custom things of ours immediately (like My Team:, etc.), if not, then they'll come back with time.

Posts and user accounts should be perfectly fine. I'll be backing up the database just before the process starts, so we shouldn't lose anything.

Anyway, just a heads up. Following this process, let's get some more convo going here. I've reached the point where I actually check this board before I do Bucknuts, I need to make a point to start more threads here.

Real quick note. I know some of you prefer the O-Zone format to BNuts. Or BNuts to this. Or this to BSB, or some combination there of. Some may want something completely different.

In v3, you can set it to display any way you like. Threaded, non-threaded, tiered, linear -- this will all make sense when it's in place and you can play with your options. The bottom line is this board will look however you want it to.
I have no idea what you just said, but upgrades tend to be good in my book

I'm with ya on that one  Every time I think I know something about computers I'm brought back down to earth by someone who actually does.

Noone is actually going to use the BSB format, are they? :sick1:
