'Bo' not happy with Irish or Bucks

ND has always played a national schedule against many teams thru the years and would have no problems finding 4 replacements. Besides PSU has not been a regular on ND's schedule for some time now. Funny, but I did not realize that ND was begging ND,MSU and Purdue to play them....
Of course ND could find opponents, anyone can schedule games. Will it be the same for ND if there are no regional powers/rivals?

Do Tennessee & [Insert Military School Here] generate the same kind of interest in south bend as Michigan, Michigan State & Purdue? Not in my experience living in Michiana (a term I hate btw, only the Indiana residents call it that :p).

Besides the history of the matchups, the alumni bases often live together, fueling rivalries & interest in the matchups (ie MSU, hardly based on their program prestige).

It would have a big impact on ND if the Big 10 was not contributing to ND's schedule.

They would have a hard time finding teams that would pull as big a fanbase and national attention.

Maybe if Michigan didn't start every other season with a loss to a middling West Coast School.. .it might matter...

Bo's problem here is simply that he recognizes-- or at lest fears-- that the programs are going in the opposite direction... and he's on the wrong end.

I mean... not to say Michigan is dead and buried... they aren't... but... you still get some love for beating Notre Dame even when they are down... but... now that they've apparently improved... it is incovenient...

Anyway... the same talk was coming out of South Bend before last year... so...

As for Bo and Woody in the next world. I don't know how you define hell, but my guess is that Bo defines it as having to get out of bed every day and having Woody hang 50 points on him while going for the two-point conversion right to the end of the game.

Come to think about it, that's probably Woody's definition of heaven as well:biggrin:
