Really...their public excuse was that they didn't want to change the "complexion" of their establishment? They should be shut down just for saying something that stupid...sheesh I thought people like that were masters of closet racism.

Well, obviously I have no idea what the circumstances of this event were and it does sound bad. But my two cents is this: I live in an area with lots of public pools and it's a royal pain in the butt when day cares come in and drop off bus loads of kids along with a handful of high school looking councilors and turn 50 kids loose at the pool. It does make for a chaotic experience for people trying to relax and enjoy the day. I can't imagine a private club around my area even thinking about letting a day care come in.

As god is my witness, a relative (from Alabama, go figure ) made that complaint to me about a water park in Birmingham. But it's okay, she prefaced it by saying, "I'm not a racist, but...."

Oh I don't doubt for 1 second that the kids were causing disruption...I just want the idiot spokesperson to be punished for being stupid enough to use the word "complexion" in his statement.

If indeed this story is true, and white kids did exit the pool as black children jumped in, then perhaps education is what is needed.

Perhaps what is needed is a course for the white kids who left the pool and their parents? I am sure that they can be reassured that IQ does not wash off. They needn't fear getting any on them from the black children. Once that they are sure that their ignorance can remain intact, if they so wish, I am sure this problem will go away.

Yeah... I used to be a lifeguard at a public pool... and we let them come, but, it was like "Caddy Day"

"Yeah, you can bring your kids over, but, only from 10am to 11:30.... on Monday"

Oh, and we made every last kid get a season pass.... no group discounts.

It was freaking freezing some mornings...

I agree, but it also sounded bad when those white boys raped that poor black girl at Duke. I hope the incident is thoroughly investigated before the people at the pool are branded Klan members...just in case there's more to the story than the catchy headline.

If the story proves to be 100% accurate as portrayed, then hold them accountable.
