Black Donnellys - NBC show

Here was one of them. Obviously, that's not a 25% drop like I had read elsewhere, but I don't remember where I read that.

Black News for 'Black Donnellys'
NBC's mob drama The Black Donnellys, which had a disappointing premiere a week ago, slumped even further at 10:00 p.m. this Monday night as it posted a 5.1 rating and an 8 share (versus last week's 6.0/10). The results were worse than those for the previous occupant of the Monday-night time slot -- Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. A rerun of CBS's CSI: Miami won the hour with a 9.9/16.

In other words I made that number up and this is the best backpedaling I could do.

I liked both episodes. There is also an episode that you can only watch online. It was pretty good as well. Wouldn't be to suprised to see the show not make it in the ratings though. It's just not the type of show that reaches a large crowd.

The 2nd episode was better than the 1st. I liked it, but I never thought I'd see the day where a guy was beating a dead man with a sledge hammer (blood flying everywhere) and stuffing him in a barrel on network TV.

I liked Studio 60 at first but it really lost my interest with the whole "Danny's in love" crap. I think they were just trying to give it an identiity but nothing they tried seem to capture a steady audience.

oh yeah... the whole sledge hammer thing was cool :pimp:

What a ridiculous show. They aren't even black!

They are referring to "black Irish" with the name.

C?ige Chonnacht is the region known for the term "Black Irish". Dark haired people with unblemished, white skin and blue or hazel eyes. Supposedly descended from the Spanish Gaels of the Armada shipwrecked in Galway Bay during the latter 16th century. Genetically impossible to have descended from these people with such a small gene pool. Native Irish don't recognise this term "Black Irish or Black Scots". Original inhabitants of Ireland were known to have dark hair, as archaeological digs of Bronze Age ruins and peat bog mummies show. Genetics of the native Irish hair didn't begin to change until the invasions of the Vikings and the Anglo-Saxons. The Chonnacht O'Connor side of my family are referred to as "Black Irish", while the McCords and Mabees are referred to as "Black Scots". Possible Roman and Iberian influence to create the unfreckled, dark tanning skin, but no research with merit exist. "
