I have Directv, which is why I'm ticked they don't have their overflow games in HD while Dishnet, my former provider, does. Directv claims to have all these HD channels, but it seems like not the ones that really matter to me--like Buckeye games in HD that aren't on the main channel! :)

I wonder how many overflow channels the Dish Network has? I also wonder what Dish intends on doing with the BTN(for customers outside the B-10 region)after January. If you have a HD DVR you can always record the game in HD when it is being replayed on DTV. OSU/K-State will be replayed in HD on DTV.

apparently you need a new dish to get BTN HD on DirecTV (only if your dish was installed before 2005).

It looks like I will be watching Kent State in "regular definition". My new dish will be ready for Jon Diebler and the boys though.

Yes you need a 5lnb dish, it's called a slimline dish. Just upgraded mine recently.

I have a new dish so I should be fine.

I believe there are five overflow channels on DishNetwork.

Do you have Dish? If so, have they said what they are going to do after January for people outside the Big Ten region? That's right in the heart of basketball season. I am guessing they move it to a more expensive tier.

i called those douchebags over a month ago and they said I was ready to go for BTN HD (and all then new HD channels). Of course, I am not ready. No big deal. As long as it gets hooked up by B-ball season. I don't think there are any more OSU football games on BTN this season. I parlayed that mistake into three months of HBO and Skinemax for free!

Actually it was on the website that you would need the 5lnb dish, I even posted it on here. As far as remaining games on the BTN, there will be 2 OSU games. This week, K-State and then either Illinois or Wisconsin. All B-10 teams will have at least one confererence game on the BTN.

This is BS, why didn't the BTN have the foresight to put the Northwestern game on there instead of ABC? I hope it's wisky since thats the game I will be at.

I may or may not understand your point. I would assume that the BTN would LIKE to have an important game (aka Big10 title implications) televised on their network, such as Wisconsin or Illinois. I don't think they are trying to choose the least interesting games. They are just often stuck with those games because ABC/ESPN get the first choice, if I understand correctly.
