Absolutely Awesome!!

The guide updated on DirecTV.

Channel hosting Youngstown State at Ohio State is 218.

Repeat - Channel 218 shows Youngstown State at Ohio State on 9/01 at 12 noon!

Here is the complete schedule for Saturday, noon games, OSU ch 218, Northwestern 219, Penn St 221, scUM 220

Night games Minny ch 220, Indiana 218

Just to give people a heads up, if you don't presently have a 5-lnb dish, you will need one to take advantage of the upcoming HD content. I just ordered mine and they are very busy, so don't wait to long. If you can, get the "slimline model" dish.

I have WOW and have been supremely satisfied with the service.

BTN is being very disingenuous IMO. It is a $$$play, no ifs ands or buts. Their posturing otherwise is ridiculous. And their partnership with DirecTV is a poorly advertised deal with the devil (or at least a minor malevolent angel).

Home games I will go to. Away games I will seek a good sports bar and view as I quaff good draft. Small, unattractive satellite dishes will not be mounted on my house.:grr:

It's actually a nice way to enjoy the game. I listed to a radio transmission last year while on a camping trip. Quite nice.
When you do that, at some point someone in the crowd of listeners is bound to say ...

"I can see it now!"

Kind of like being in a Buckeye Church of the temporarily Blinded. :osu:

You can add Comcast to that "suck list" as well! I did get on BTN & they give you the carriers in your area & also a pre written letter to send to your cable company why they should carry it!
The only one that has it is DirecTV in our area not even Dish Network is carrying it!

The Big Ten members benefit big time from the Big Ten Network. More than they have before. The entire renovation of the libraries at OSu is being funded from the BTN deal. TW is the real a-holes here. They will raise your rates anyway, I guarantee it.

Time warner doesn't like the leverage that the BTN has. They think they should dictate EVERYTHING.

It appears to be 218 everywhere. Based on the bigtennetwork.com website homepage.

Big Ten Network

I checked the schedule on the TV itself and they already have YSU-OSU as "upcoming" on 218 (along with games on the other two overflow channels)...they also show channel 220 they don't have the game listed for it yet...

EDIT: No placeholder for 220...either they removed it or I was hallucinating...

Anyone a fellow ATT U-verse subscriber and have any idea if they have the same plan in mind as Direct TV as far as airing the overflow games? I see a single channel placeholder with the Big Ten Network on my channel lineup; however, I fear they'll be running the scum game instead of my beloved Buckeyes.:(

BTN in Northwest Ohio

Toledo may not be in the heart of this state but we will be watching the Buckeyes play this Saturday (if you have cable or DirectTV). Tomorrow they will air the OSU V Michigan game from 2006. Other game covered on Saturday willl be BGSU and scUM. If you want to see the Rocket play Purdue, you will have to drive across town and buy a ticket at the Glass Bowl.

toledoblade.com -- Conference and network greedy

toledoblade.com -- BTN debuts; BGSU, UM, OSU on this weekend

The long anticipated launch of the Big Ten Network will be at 8 tomorrow night. Locally, Buckeye CableSystem will carry the programming as part of its standard, expanded basic service on Ch. 67 (Ch. 645 in high definition). Buckeye was the first of about 75 local cable outlets to reach an agreement to carry BTN programming.

Tomorrow's inaugural program will be Big Ten Tonight, which will be followed at 9 by a replay of the 2006 Ohio State-Michigan football game, the first in a series called The Big Ten's Greatest Games.

Live football game coverage will begin on Saturday with the Youngstown State at Ohio State season-opening game at noon. Other conflicting Big Ten games will be aired on "overflow channels." In Buckeye's case, it will show Appalachian State at Michigan at noon on its BCSN subsidiary. At 8 p.m., the Bowling Green State University at Minnesota game will be aired on Ch. 67.
