Yeah I know I know. It's still crazy that when my grandkids look back at this time period on that generations wikipedia, there will be at least a 25 year gap between tosu coaches of the year, which will seem especially strange when they look at conference records.

What's really going to blow your mind is when your grandkids say, "Grandpa? Why do you consider Michigan a rival when they've only beaten OSU like 6 times out of 40 this century? Shouldn't PSU be OSU's rival? They've been much more competitive!"

Does anyone really think the coach of the year award is all that great?
At the end of the season, do other teams fear playing Ohio State? Urban Meyer? Or Kirk Ferentz and Iowa? Or O'Brien and Penn State? Let Indiana's head coach have his award (or whoever it is) and we can watch them in the Alamo Bowl.

I think Dantonio would be the favorite at this point.
Kill would be close competition... but can you really give it to Kill when he's been on medical leave?

Considerations for COY:
- Are you employed at Ohio State? (if yes, you are immediately disqualified)
- Are you, or will you be, bowl eligible? (if yes, continue)
- Is your job secure for at least another year? (if yes, continue)
- Did your school suck last year? (+1 for yes, +0.5 for every year before that in which you sucked as well)
- Was everybody expecting you to suck this year? (+1)
- Were you about to be fired last year (+1)
- Are you in position to win the non-OSU division? (+3)

History and the record books should reflect tOSU's dominance.

I'd say Anderson, (i. e. the "new guy" at Wisky) is the front runner for B1G COY. He is quietly putting up a pretty good record (and Wisky is probably the 2nd best B1G team). Without the officiating debacle at Arizona State he would be 8-1 now. In addition, he played Ohio State pretty close (31-24) too.

If OSU goes undefeated in regular season and anyone but Urban Meyer gets the award...it's BS.

Let some other guy get COY; this is the only important B1G award:
