Basketball tradition, relative proximity, general impression of them being the slowest wildebeest in the pack running away from hyenas.

Also, I think it's interesting that Wake Forest volunteered for this fool's errand. They must still be harboring resentment over Oden & Conley.

With ND being part of the discussion there's a good possibility that Purdue and/or Sparty were targets.

Remember, if you've ever watched an ACC game you always see the ACC logo on the bottom score overlay, even when we played Miami back in 2011. They don't have that for the B1G. It's clear ESPN loves their ACC-SEC monopoly/takeover. As much as I hate ESPN for that, we still never win postseason games on FOX lol...and their production pales in comparison to ESPN, I like the band shots but the picture quality and announcers suck.

So that northeast expansion is looking pretty wise...

Banking? I wondered the same thing and Charlotte made the cut and that is their calling card.

The comments are raising some serious questions about this map.

"This map is not meant to suggest anything other than a somewhat interesting, if arbitrary, half and half divide in the GDP of the United States."

From the original creator (/u/atrubetskoy) on /r/mapporn's discussion. He took the top 23 metropolitan statistical areas in the country, threw out a few lower ones so he could fill in some gaps in the BosWash corridor.

everyone in the MAC knew UMASS would be gone when Temple left. The original thought in grabbing UMASS was to give an eastern partner to Temple. Then after a few years try to force both UMASS and Temple basketball into the MAC. BUT, when Temple left, it was a forgone conclusion that UMASS would leave eventually. The MAC just forced their hand by telling UMASS to move to the MAC for all sports (including basketball) or leave. UMASS chose to leave.
