Big XII teams have been playing on Pay Per View! That's inconceivable to me.

One for me. One for you. One for me. One for you.

I have no doubt he's truthfully reporting what he's being told..... But I don't think he's asking any questions... or.. investigating... you know, being a journalist.
AuTX Buckeye;1716798; said:I think High Lonesome said it earlier, Chip is an old newpaper guy with real sources, unfortunately he works for someone who has seemingly gotten under UT's (Mack's or Dodd's) skin as far as recruiting and sources. So its highly possible Chip's getting bad or misleading info to make his employer look bad.

1) I'm not sure you need people watching Rutgers (which isn't going to happen often, especially after getting worked in the B10 East). You merely need the NYC TV sets to add the BTN on basic packages due to their proximity (10 miles away). While I have seen a Rutgers football game, this begs the question of whether Rutgers could really deliver more than a tiny fraction of NYC. All of Nebraska is still a heck of a lot more than single digit percentages of NYC. But then, you don't have to get far into double digit percentages before NYC is the bigger player. IMHO, it's impossible to know which exigency is real if/until it happens.
College football -- and college athletics in general -- will get the full attention of the higher education committee of the state's House of Representatives on Wednesday morning. That meeting, thanks to a five-day public-notice law, will come a day after the Texas and Texas Tech boards of regents meet to discuss whether their respective schools should stay in the Big 12 or leave for the Pac-10. While some believe the regents will vote on moves Tuesday, Branch, the chair of the higher education committee, believes the schools will wait until after Wednesday's hearing.
"To make a final decision before Wednesday," Branch said, "would not be wise."

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri curators met behind closed doors Sunday night for the fourth time in as many days as the school turns its attention to saving the Big 12 Conference after its apparent bid to join the Big Ten failed.
Texas stands to make between $20 mil and $25 mil per yr under a proposed new TV pkg presented by Dan Beebe, plus UT?s own network.

I can't believe Texas is actually negotiating through this tool. After Oklahoma admitting that they're Texas' lap dog, this is the second most embarrassing thing to come out of this whole realignment saga.
