I actually seriously doubt that any solid info is released this late in the game at all.......until it's a done deal. Like I said about the whole PBC source stuff, no way in hell the Big 10 wants that to continue during this period of sensitive negotiations. I would imagine that Chip is finding his sources are drying up as well.

I am pleased, yet somewhat less than proud, to announce that Memphis is the latest member of Conference BP. This action has two immediate consequences: the All-BuckeyePlanet League has been reactivated - get those uniforms cleaned, folks! - and we might be able to get TWO shiny new servers.

Huzzah!

(Either that or this is a highly subliminal Spring Drive Donate Today message. You know, or else. Memphis.)

Very good point. It is ironic that OU scheduled their regents meeting a day after UTs. At first glance I thought it was just them yielding to big brother, but the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if it isn't a publicity stunt so they can save face.

I think Oklahoma is most open to keeping the Big XII viable, but they want to see if Texas bolts first, and to where. None of these schools trust each other.

I hope we got a concession from the Memphis FedExers that the UPS girl can still drop by with her package.

Would you?

I live in SEC country now, and they turn each other into the NCAA "anonymously" all the time. However, there is an honor among thieves code down here so to speak, and they stick together like no other when it counts. With the Big 12 there has always been special treatment for some teams, and internal back biting because of it. It is also the biggest reason the Big 12 is going to go the way of the VCR before next week is over.

From my short time over on Nebby's scout board, I came to the conclusion that the Big XII was always something of a forced marriage to begin with (when it happened, I was too young to really appreciate the differences, and by the time I became old enough to understand, I didn't really care enough to look in to it). In fact, Nebby fans don't like the idea of Texas joining the Big 10 - mostly because UT has dominated the conference (in terms of power brokering, not necessarily football (though that's been the case too of late)) and is greedy, in their opinion.

This actually leaked from the Missouri athletic department this afternoon and was promptly rebuffed by Texas A&M within half an hour. They have not rejected an offer from the Pac-10 and are continuing to evaluate ALL options.

Texas A&M to the SEC is a done deal, they just have to go thru the formalities to make it "official", have their "official regent" vote just like Nebraska did even though they know what it will be (although instead of 6-3 I'd imagine they'll declare it's unanimous), have the day focused on them and their press conference, etc.

A&M has lived in the shadow long enough that they love, love, love all the attention and focus being on them for once. They are going to do everything they can to have this last as long as they can.

Scott heading on his way up to Kansas indicates he's going to Plan B.

Mid-week next week (I think I read Thursday somewhere). It is a done deal, they have the votes from the BoR. The official announcement will come in a press conference with a televised vote like what Nebraska did so they have a whole day news cycle to themselves. But it'll be done. They wouldn't grandstand with a televised BoR vote to embarrass themselves.

All it means is that Scott is worried about it - It isn't a done deal until it is official. A&M continues to look at all options, including keeping the Big XII remnants together.

Birds that migrated up from the Birmingham area :tongue2:

Supposedly it has some sort of connection with some SEC thingamabobber (technical term.)

Woody, with their revenue issues the Big 12 was never an option once Nebraska left.
