Tommy Maddox is scrambling as I type desperately trying to get his resume in order.

He can always fall back on peddling insurance like he was doing before he got his break in arena football and the now defunct XFL.

I almost cried when Ben fell to the Steelers at #11. It's almost wrong for a rookie quarterback to be this good.

nutty....you a steelers fan???

it has been since dan marino that a rookie qb has played this well....and one can make a case that big ben is even better than marino....

saving injuries....the steelers are the best bet to win the super bowl......they are just loaded in all phases....

i mean they just played new england and philly back-to-back and embarassed them both......

Forget rookie, he's a very good NFL QB period.

I've been saying it since draft day but I'll rub it in again...The day the Browns traded up to get the soldja while Big Ben fell to the Steelers will go down as one of the darkest days in Brownie history(and thats saying something).

It's a perfect situation for Ben because there is so little pressure on him. He will rarely have to throw the ball more than 20-25 times a game because of the run game, the defense looks great and he has all the protection in the world. This style of football could extend his career and will make him a very efficient quarterback for years. The only problem is that he may never put up the stats to be league MVP.

I think he'd be the first to tell you that he'd rather have a Terry Bradshaw/Tom Brady career than a Fran Tarkenton/Dan Marino career though.

I watched this kid last year while I was at Miami very closely. I was a sports talk radio host for Miami Student Radio, and watching him and studying the games every week made me profess that he be the #1 overall pick. I knew he would do this...I had no doubt. He was better than any QB i'd ever seen Ohio State have, or play against. His line wasn't that good at Miami, he avoided about 5 sacks a game by himself...but the amazing thing was, he didn't just shed the guys off so he could scramble or throw the ball out of bounds...he would shed them off so he could throw a bullet to the one guy open on the field that he saw immediately. Such great vision.

Every 5 minutes we would be saying to ourselves (can you believe he just did that). It seemed like his only incomplete passes were dropped balls and his only interceptions were tipped balls. I remember watching him against BGSU and waiting for him to make some type of mistake. He never did.

The Browns needed this guy. He is a franchise QB. He's the next Favre. He's got a quick release, he's strong, he's moble, he's pinpoint, he's got a cannon, and he has amazing vision, and he's got smarts that are only overshadowed by Krenzel.

There is no doubt that Pittsburgh is a great team, and that is why Ben is successful now. But this is his 1st year. He didn't even expect to play, was just thrown in there. It's scary to think about...but he's gotta get a lot better after learning the NFL. How good can this guy get?

Rookie QBs are not League MVPs.

Ben is.

Big Ben is just doing what has made him a great quarterback throughout his life. i go to bowling green and i watched him shread bowling green twice. we threw everything at this guy, but he just stayed composed and threw touchdowns. once i saw his ability to scramble and throw a perfect pass on the run, i was impressed and knew he was something special. whats funny is that, he passed up a scholarship to osu to play at miami, he would of looked good in an osu uniform. oh well, im happy hes representing the mac right in the nfl by tearing up the league. hes the rookie mvp and overall mvp in my opinion, nobody has been more important to their teams success.

Let me preface this by stating that I am a lifelong Steelers fan.

Big Ben was the steal of the draft. I believe the Browns' fans will feel the pain of passing him up for long, long time. He is making a case for rookie of the year, and will probably win that; unless the Steelers completely collapse. Roy Williams is probably second in that race. As for MVP, I don't think he'll even finish in the top 5 in that race. No one is on the same level as Manning this year. 31 TD's in what, 10 games? Incredible. Throw in the big names like Brady, McNabb, Owens, Favre, Culpepper, Moss......too much star power for Ben to upstage; IMO.
