Big 10 vote- Missouri over Nebraska?

We didn't know about the volleyball chicks until a few minutes ago. :p

That, and I don't think many of us thought Nebraska was really in the realm of possibility at the time. My impression until a few weeks ago was that Nebraska would stick with the traditional Big 8 schools.

I think it had more to do with what looked possible at the time the poll was taken by most here.

When this process first started, Texas was the dream and Mizzou/Rutgers appeared to be the low-hanging fruit.

Had it been known that Nebraska was within the realm of realistic probability, I'm sure they would have scored much higher.

That poll was up for months. Nebraska wasn't even being discussed until recently. It worked out for the best. The Huskers are the better addition.

Nebraska has better academics, guess again.

I think they're about even. Nebraska has a slightly higher USN&WR report ranking (both of which quite a bit below the lowest ranked B10 school), but Missouri has a better grad school/research profile. Academics were pretty much a wash.

Missouri also came with two major metro areas in its state, which made it a stronger candidate for BTN considerations.

They may still end up in the B10 before this is all over.

I voted Missouri because I thought there was no way in hell we would get an established, tradition rich, powerhouse like Nebraska. That and I was hoping to see the replay of Chase Daniel eating his boogers on BTN.

I agree with this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^.

Delany, go get Mizzou!!!

Anything that messes up Czar Texas:evil: and their plans to lord over a weakened conference makes me happy.

Nebraska makes the Big 10 stronger in so many ways, not just football. But being a football NUT, I can't wait until 2011.

Divy the teams up by time zones. Eastern and Central. I think Eastern may be a bit stronger but all in all Go Scarlet and Go Red.:osu:

What are the non-football ways? Granted, I'm ok with the Nebraska decision, assuming that they are completely on board with Big Ten recruiting rules, and I think adding another all-time top 5 program is a big bonus. It's just that I don't see any home run beyond that.
