Big 10 vote- Missouri over Nebraska?

Umm...they may be midwestern by location by that is about it. They are more southern than people may think. They were, afterall, one of the rebel states. :tongue2:

I voted for Missouri because I feel that they fit in better than the other choices, including Nebraska. Nebraska is one of those large prarie states like Kansas and the Dakotas, while Missouri gives me the impression that they are more midwestern like the other states in the Big Ten (even PA).

I would consider Missouri more of a great plains state, actually. I had family from there Kansas City was pretty much a western city early in it's development. Although it is probably more southern now, I believe there was far from a concensus about during the Civil War. The Union had a sizable militia there.

Being a Husker and totally blinded with Red colored glasses, I'm trying to figure out how Missouri got more votes then the Huskers. Is it the population?

Go Big Red!

I don't think anyone thought Nebraska would be the ones to jump the Big XII. I was suprised that more people didn't think about Nebraska, given theincrease in national audience for the network.
